I recently have watched many videos about the hacker group Anonymous and I have seen many similarities between our two groups. We have no official leader or hierarchy and we will talk about injustices. We don't go to the extremes that they do but I began to wonder; are we just another Anonymous?

I noticed one difference thou. We, The Dollars don't really do anything. We kind of just talk about things. I understand that a good deal of this sight is just for that but if we don't follow through with any missions then what is the point of that part?

So I ask you all to think about this before you dismiss me. Take a day or a week if you have to but think carefully.

Do we want to just talk about things or do we really want to do something?

Think for yourself the individual. Will YOU help with a large group mission? Or do YOU just want to talk. I don't want to criticize anyone cause I don't really do anything either but what will we do from this point forward?

i think confidence comes in numbers; when people realise they are not the only one performing the task, it becomes more desirable to them. as many like you have said, they want the group to be known, but others want it to remain unknown. there are ways to cobat the argument, though; work in the shadows. if you do things, the logo will appear with that act, but do it when no one is looking. but people also have to think of what they want to do, whether it is something big or small.
i agree with you, at some point, the group must decide what it's future will be, stay online and simply talk about things, or actually do them.

I don't really think so. I did hear you out and I did think about it. Here is why.

The Dollars is simply a community. Not only that, we are a community that is not drawn together by any one particular area of interest. There is no real 'theme' to this forum, and so the people that inhabit this community are varied. I have said this before and I will say it again: we are a forum and will likely stay that way. Anonymous is made of people who are committed to using their skills to change things. The Dollars are not like that, and I don't think that's a bad thing. I don't feel a need to go out and 'rally the troops' so to speak.

Individual missions spread through this forum is a better use for it, if you wish to 'actually do something'. For instance, one mission simply posts a picture with the word 'Smile', and says to post it in a public place. It is an idea that was spread through the forum. I think this is a better use of this site: rather than gathering followers for a mission, spread ideas. Lots of people want to have everyone meet up and do something, but I feel that defeats the purpose of a colorless group.

Just my opinion.

I'm a person who'd act, but only if I deem it to have a potential successful goal in sight.
The missions I take part in, I often complete, or do my best to...
If others were like this, we'd have more results.

our group is whatever we make it.......I we forget about the reason we are the dollars and united, then I think nothing good will come out of this....but, perhaps if we can do something more than we are doing now (one step at a time) we can do what is "right"......I dont know what everyone else is trying to do...but... i hope what we are doing is for a good cause ^-^

I don't think we need to be as extreme as Anonymous, but if we really did want to achieve something together, I see no reason why we can't work together as a group to reach whatever goal we put in front of us.

I agree with Sloshy. The major difference between us and Anonymous is that we're a little bit more of being moralfags. Many have despised Anonymous due to their illogical actions which are mostly filled with hatred. And the recent actions by those who claim to be Anonymous are becoming more of being a famefag. It would be awesome if we an do the same and fight for the rights of the people without having these lame famefaggotries and lulz-based trolling.

I would love to help out with a group mission. I like to talk on here but i actually like to do something about whats going on out there in the world.

I agree for the most part with Inuhakka, it is a forum that eople gather to speak. actions can be decided but it is not a goup like anonymous since we actually lack the skills and the commitment. which is not bad, it is simply different
