Hi, I use to be a regular chat member on drrr-chat.com, I thought the old dollars members on it was cool.Some I can contact them by facebook, but just sad that the chat has taken over by many sex role plays, and trolls. I saw some people made their own chat sites ,but there's sexual rooms/ private chats. I decided to try to make my own ,so I did.
Good parts:
- I can ban people from the site completely
-unlimited number of people in room
-can private message people
- subscribe people
-has forums (message owner ,to create forums)
- non adult content (so nothing sexual)
- works on mobile
-blocks bad words, so less chance of trouble
bad parts
-owner has to create the rooms( message owner to ask to create chat rooms)
-owner is the one who makes the forums
-the chat in the rooms stays(message to clear it ,if really needed to)

Undoubtedly you'll get doubt - The potential seems nice, but ultimately its yet another "I made a chatroom for us". As you've pointed out, there are quite a few of those going around.
The problems with this off the top of my head, though..
1. Blocking bad words. the censor is mandatory? Nobody particularly enjoys censorship, though some will use it. If it's mandatory, I can see it being a pain.
2. The BBS is the 'forums', what exactly is the point of a chatroom that has its own forums? That's essentially an entirely new site.
3. One of the primary perks to the current chat site...
Sorry, I realized I was about to compliment the PoS site we link to now and had to go get something to drink while I stopped laughing.
... Is that its easy to pick up and use. People can enter it and make their own room or delete their own room at a whim.
You say you (presumably, you are the owner), can make the chatrooms and they hold an infinite amount of people. So the people would rely on you? Just how apt are you to administrate this? On what grounds do you approve or reject creation of new rooms?
3. There's also the IRC channel that, contrary to popular belief, does get used. What sets this option apart from every other option? Thiamor made/is making a chat site as well. What sets this option apart from that one?
4. Assuming for a moment that, for some reason, this is chosen as the new 'official' thing to link to up top, instead of the current one. Essentially the same people you were annoyed by there will probably enter the new one. The only difference is that this time you can ban them.
In other words, it would be roughly the same - but with less people you don't like.
I don't like them either, but the accusation of the statement more or less stands. This is the same situation with any alternate chats, the aforementioned one by Thiamor included. While I have no particular interest is shittily done sex chat/RPs, I understand that some people do. Its their 'thing'. I'm not going to ban them from it, as long as it doesn't involve me.
The primary problem then becomes the overflow of the shitty things you don't give a damn about. Do you create a room specifically for that? give them their own sections? But certain words are censored, so it doesn't really work.
The end result more of a controlled environment chat. That, and the fact it asks you to register, may very well be a turn off to many people.
So while I'm not discouraging you with this, I do feel the need to point out problems it will probably have and mention the general doubt I have that it will work as effectively as you believe it will.
It is, after all, one of the variety of options we've already got.

Also, to preempt the inevitable - This thread does address an overarching issue we've had. Most of us on the BBS actually used to go on the chat before it was a cesspool of faggotry. The need to replace it was an issue that spawned many attempts and options (Be it Thiamor's always in progress chat, or IRC), and thus - while we haven't really settled on any one option, people willing to go the distance to put forth their own alternatives are still viable.
So long as this doesn't become a recruitment thread for his chat, and stays informative, it is a viable topic of discussion regarding something that does affect us (not all of us have forsaken the chats, after all)
