You saw an awesome movie the other day? You want to talk about your favorite TV show? Post in here about it.

Recep Ivedik (3)

1 Name: Sahan Gokbakar : 2024-11-21 12:56 ID:T2Xe8m/P [Del]

Have you ever wondered what Turkish humor looks like? If so, Recep İvedik is a great place to start!

Recep İvedik is one of Turkey's most iconic comedy films, starring Şahan Gökbakar as the unforgettable Recep. The movie revolves around an eccentric, loud, and often socially awkward character who finds himself in hilarious and absurd situations. Recep's over-the-top personality and exaggerated behaviors make him both relatable and incredibly entertaining.

While the humor might seem unique to Turkish culture, many of the themes—like family bonds, societal expectations, and clumsily navigating life's challenges—are universally relatable. The movie mixes slapstick comedy with witty observations about daily life, offering a light-hearted experience that anyone can enjoy.

If you're looking to explore something new and have a good laugh, Recep İvedik could be your next watch! Just be prepared for a wild ride filled with lots of quirky moments and larger-than-life comedy.

Have you seen it before? What did you think? Let’s discuss!

Still haven't seen this. Bump anyway

While this movie really is incredible, I feel like it is constantly overrated. In a completely unrelated note, has anyone of you so called "die-hard fans" read the book or new comic?

I see in the fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables, slaves with white collars, advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of the history man, no purpose or place, we have no Great war, no Great depression, our great war is a spiritual war, our great depression is our lives, we've been all raised by television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars, but we won't and we're slowly learning that fact. and we're very very pissed off.

Just spreading the love for this one since it's still not super well-known among most circles I run in (I am spreading the word!!). Very excited for when it hits streaming, and for the upcoming sequels.

A young boy is wanted for a crime he has no recollection of committing and must go on the run, hunted by two kings and their forces.

1 Name: Daiyu : 2024-08-22 11:53 ID:+QaIge53 [Del]

Has anyone some movie, shows or anime recommendations?
I'd love to watch something that's on the creepy or horror side but not jumpscares. More like something on the psychological side.
Any ideas or favorites?

An anime I really liked was The Apothecary Diaries which has mystery in it, and bungo stray dogs is a big one too, but a good pick would be Chainsaw man or Fire force with some comedy.

Anime: Psycho pass, parasyte, hell girl, zetsubou sensei, monogatari series, junji ito series, another, erased, when they cry series etc.
As for movies and and shows, honestly I don't know, I only know the scary ones that have jumpscare. I can reassure you there's no jumpscare on my recommendation list

Corpse Bride (2)

1 Name: vivi : 2023-10-25 20:25 ID:LMuNBOQW [Del]

today i rewatched corpse bride and was reminded of how much i wish emily and victor ended up together. also i don't like that victor and victoria's names are so similar and that just adds to why it should have been emily. she never got a proper marriage and i think she deserved one! victoria wasn't even that great of a character... maybe if she got more screen time, i guess. but guess which of the two gifted victor his dead dog! (hint: the better choice)

2 Name: Azima Tempest : 2023-10-27 23:42 ID:Ak3UHyml [Del]

True, I think Emily is the best endgame for Victor but he still chose the other girl (Victoria I think but whatever). I hate the ending but it's still a great movie.

Your Top 5 Favorite Movies (16)

I think this could be something interesting to discuss. You list your 5 favorite movies and a short description about why you like them so much. They don't have to be the best movies you've seen just your personal favorites.

1. All About Lily Chou-Chou (2001): portrays the hardships of being a teenager in a relatable way for me, also has interesting directing
2. Mysterious Skin (2004): incredibly heartbreaking, amazing movie but i will never watch it again
3. Interstellar (2014): probably my favorite movie about space
4. Blade Runner 2049 (2017): perfect cinematography
5. Blue Spring (2001): very raw and honest

Hello there! Glad to be back on the site. It's been a while. Here are my top 5 favorite movies of all time.

1. V For Vendetta

This movie inspired me in a lot of ways. All throughout the film, there are themes and philosophies that I personally identify with. As such, over time, I've made them my own. Since this movie changed my life in such a fundamental way, as I embark on my own journey as a filmmaker, I plan to one day change someone's life in the same way my life was changed: for the better.

2. WALL-E

My favorite Pixar film. When the captain said: "I don't want to survive! I want to live!" that shook me to my core. I learned that the two were not necessarily the same. Also, I'm a sucker for a cute romance and a robot love story of all things? Brilliant.

3. Beauty and the Beast (1991)
