So guys, what do you think about serial Experiments Lain? In my opinion is one of the best Sci-Fi anime in the world.

I believe it's very overrated.

It took me three tries to actually finish, since I got bored and quit the first two times.
It's only liked for it's cute protagonist, soundtrack and atmosphere. Other than that, there's little to no story-telling happening and mostly just exposition in form of text (like the 5 minute long sequence about aliens or whatever that was lol.)
