Mission: #WelfareNotWarfareMoney for war... or humanitarian needs?Did you know that according to OCHA (Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs),
just over 1% of military spending could meet the amount requested by the UN for its humanitarian programs?
This year's Global Day of Action on Military Spending is looking to create awareness for the excessive amounts spent by governments on military means. It will go from
April 5th to April 18th.
What can you do:
- Help spread Global Campaign on Military Spending's message by supporting its campaign on Thunderclap and using the hashtags #WelfareNotWarfare and #GDAMS. You could also film a video, create some artwork... There are resources available for this in their website.
- Organize an event. It could be anything from a demonstration or a seminar to a flashmob or even a concert. You should post your activities on this world map: https://demilitarize.org/find-an-event
