Okay, so the truth is, there is hierarchy. As much as everyone says there isn't, there is. Is it unfair? I think for the most part, it isn't. But there is a clear divide between who's been on here for a long time and who hasn't, or more to the point whoever has the same mindset as the actual mods.
Anyway, the idea is the people who have been here longer know what works with the site better. They know what kind of organization works better than others, because they've actually used the site for a while. Newcomers may not see the issue with having a couple more threads on Main for topics that really are important to a lot of Dollars, but people who have been here know that soon devolves into a really crappy looking Main board. It is nice to have serious discussions right there on Main, sort of exemplifying the community if you will.
Every topic people were posting about has its place, even a post solely about the mods being too trigger happy. You just have to take the time to find the right place. It's like showing up to an interview and not knowing anything about the company. Even if you're skilled and worthy, they see that you didn't take the time to learn anything and they won't take you seriously. Here, it's the same. If you post something that normally wouldn't get hated on (like a complaint or suggestion about the Chatrooms) where it doesn't belong, people hate on it. Everyone seems to see this as an attack, but really it isn't. To be fair to you, swearing and yelling really doesn't work like the Moon Warriors seem to think. Sure, being nice isn't 100%, maybe not even 80%, but yelling and swearing certainly isn't much better. Anyway, that's my own opinion that isn't shared by most other 'mods', but they are yelling because they are tired of seeing this over and over again. We've had hundreds of threads about the Chatrooms and people continue to skip the reading that would teach them so much. That's where the frustration comes from.
Do you understand? The yelling, swearing, etc. is not really warranted by anything I agree with. But the deletion of stuff on Main really is for a good reason.
>>5 There's no need for that. It took me 15 minutes to write this response and then post the link on the other threads. This is a BBS, mind you, so responses are usually not immediate. It's only been 18 minutes.
