Really, guys? Are you that childish? And it is being childish, I know you think I just don't know what I'm talking about, I've never experienced pain, etc. But, I can't even have a conversation, and now I know why: it's because I'm new. Fucking Inuhakka said the exact same thing fucking as me, and no one said stupid shit back to him.

Fuck, I thought this was going to be different. I thought everyone was treated the same because there was no seniority, but all that is bullshit. I know now that I can't even have a conversation with anyone about sensitive topics.

mummy boy has been posting on old threads and saging his posts. I'm talking two, three year old threads, and he replies normally to them. You can look through the archives (random is one he did a lot on) and see threads that were posted on recent dates compared to surrounding threads, but are still buried. I think he didn't know how sage worked and just checked it every time.

I've been here for 6 months, so still pretty new.

It has a lot less traffic than I thought. I don't know if you've noticed, but the member counter isn't exactly accurate. I'd say we're at 1 000 at best.

I'd recommend sticking around, though. It definitely gets better as time goes on, I'd say.

I know what you mean. One of the dishwashers I work with is 30 years old. He's been a dishwasher for 15 years. I couldn't even believe it at first, but that's just what he does. I don't know if his life didn't work out or something, but he's been dishwashing for far too long.

It really makes you think about what's actually waiting for you on the other side of University, or college, or what's waiting for you in general I guess. Kind of scares me. I hope things work out for you and I, at least :D

I will not be washing dishes when I am 30 years old, I'll tell you that. I'd like to, I don't know, have a life, or something.

I kind of agree with your assessment.

Other members have told him to shut up a couple of times, however he is still respected to some extent, so I don't directly confront him, usually. He makes me angry a lot, though.

And, I'm not bad at my job, but I'm just expected to get better and better forever. It's frustrating. Luckily, no one else can do this, so I'm not going to get fired.

However, you just have to realize that you won't be doing it forever. In my case, it will be over very, very soon. However, from the looks of it with you it might be a few more years. Hopefully they have positions elsewhere where you work.

I think I'm going to ask to get on line soon. I want to be able to eat a meal while I'm not working for once. I always close, our kitchen isn't very big. How do you even ask that? Do you just say "I'm ready for the big time!" or what?

Same here. We aren't big enough for two dishwashers, so I always close. It really sucks, I know the feeling.

As for the promotion, it depends on the restaurant. For me, I automatically got scheduled as a line cook after 6 months of working as a dishwasher. For other places, you have to ask. The best way to find out is to talk to someone else that worked as a dishwasher and is now on line, if there are any. If not, you can just ask other cooks how they got promoted. It works differently in each restaurant. However, despite that, it should be safe to just ask your boss if you can. Remember to be working really hard in the dishwashing domain first, because one of my friends got promoted in 3 months he worked so hard. I'm sure you are, of course. :D

On the note of dishwashing, I am fucking done with that shit. I'm asking to get promoted as soon as possible, which will probably happen since one of the sous-chef's just quit. xD
