Artemis walking to part time job in bakery

He sees strange occurrences all day during work
Heads outside and runs into a giant demon (Curly horns, hoofed feat, red skin, tusks, vaguely humanoid)
Giant demon kidnaps him and tries to take him to be eaten
Saved by short fat lady and massive rabbit
They tell him there is a magical spring that will cleanse him
Runs off, gets chased on the way. Just makes it to spring, survives, the end

Artemis tunelessly whistled as he left the house, remembering to lock the door behind him and to put the spare key away in case his parents came home early.
“Damn” He thought has he looked at his watch, the screen nearly obscured by cracks. “Already late, better hurry then.” And with that he slipped on his joggers, walked down the patio steps and headed off into the clear morning.
Although it was only 9 A.M the sun beat down ferociously and the inside of his uniform was already forming a fetid film of sweat. “God, yet another boring day at the bakery. Why does nothing interesting ever happen around here?” He wondered to himself as he walked along the mossy path. Artemis was a 16-year-old boy from a small town in Victoria and lived with his 2 normal parents in a medium sized house just down the street of yet another suburb. It was that exact suburb he was leaving to go to his part time job at the bakery at that moment. Around halfway through the fifteen-minute walk whilst deep in ungrateful pondering, Artemis was hit by an unpleasant surprise. “Ahhhh! What the hell?” He thought to himself, gazing in chagrin at the see-through liquid that now covered his blond hair, brown eyes and the thin excuse of a moustache above his lip. “Who the hell did that!” Artemis raised his voice in anger, scanning the upper rooftops for signs of pranking kids. Silence. “Show yourselves, morons.” He tried yet again, raising his voice even louder in a futile attempt to scare the perpetrators into the open. Yet again silence... Wait what was that? It looked like a flicker of speedy movement. “Hrmmm, they must have gotten away.” Artemis sighed unhappily then touched his cheeks. “Oh well at least the heat did some good today, the water has pretty much evaporated.” And so he continued on his way to work.
The shift at work that followed the incident was strange to say the least. Every time he looked out the dusty window Artemis could swear that a hunched shape or a looming shadow would flicker by, shadowed in brown by the layer of dust. When one particularly nasty silhouette that looked like it was holding knives in its hands he gave in and asked Jarred, his fellow counter worker.
“Shapes? Nah mate I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Huh…. Must just be the heat getting to me I guess. Never mind then.”
But the strange apparitions kept passing and by the time that his shift had ended Artemis was eager to get outside and inspect the causes.
