im not trying to be arrogant and say "is the dark web real???" or any of that stuff. just want to know, gather information and one day someone might need that info so its better to know now then later.

The Dark Web is not a particularly exciting place.
There are just a few private forums and of course the possibility to buy weapons, drugs and other illegal stuff.
I've been there only a few times because my interest in such things is rather low.

There's not exactly a search engine on their to browse. You have to use specific onion site addresses to get there whole using a free browser called tor to get there. Normal browsers can't process onion websites.

There's the usual drug and gun buying sites as well as sites that sell social security information and credit card info. There's also hackers for hire and assassins for hire. Even more disturbing (and harder to come across) are human organ markets and live humans (children and adults) themselves.

The most disturbing thing I've heard of are these things called red rooms where people drag unwilling participants in front of a camera and the viewers get to comment and say what happens to the person. They don't usually make it through the stream alive.

How do people pay for this stuff "safely"? Wkth a thing called Bitcoin. It's used bc it's untracible.

Do yourself a favor and don't visit. Just visiting puts your computer at risk for hacking and being a victim of the dark web.

The funny thing is that the dark web isn't even the end. It goes deeper than that.

the dark/deep web is real. I was at a friends house with a whole bunch of people, someone brought their computer, and someone else got us onto the deep web. not as fun as you ma think. half the stuff wouldn't even load.

> Just visiting puts your computer at risk for hacking and being a victim of the dark web.

Haha no. Just don't run random programs and you'll be fine.

Oh, and there are plenty of legitimate, non-criminal uses for the dark net. Such as getting around oppresive regimes and whistleblowing.

Absolutely! There are a variety of Illegal business on there. Like, illegal ammunitions and narcotics. The Russian mob. Child pornography ("coming soon') Church of scientology audio files. Letter from Hilary to Bill Clinton's mistress, Monica Lewinski. Last but not the least. The red door. It's where you pay someone to watch people be tortured.

So, there really is no "dark web", to my understanding what "dark web" means is just a part of the internet that can only be accessed through something like duck duck go or TOR which are browsers that have NO sort of filter whatsoever. The internet DOES really have anything, you just need to know where to look and HOW to look. Just PLEASE use a VPN if you are going to use these browsers. The sites you find are hidden by google and safari filters for reasons. Be careful.

Is there a dark web if so can u tell me?

11 Name: Reii : 2019-04-06 22:17 ID:uqcxKG8G [Del]

Yeah, did for a project. The dark web is not a specific website or anything. It's just the internet like what GrumpBot said. Videos abt actual killings, violence and all. If you're curious and you're planning to check it out, then welp, take care. but... RIPMentalHealth

There is no *THE* dark web, only open private networks. Tor is one of them, haven't been there. There's also i2p and Freenet. I haven't been to any of them, but someone I know is a fan of i2p - he says that on the i2p darknet, there is nothing much going on, just some forums, some wikis and lots of file sharing, not anything mainstream though, like new movies and games. He mentioned that i2p look like the old internet circa 2001, when there wasn't any JavaScript voodoo going on - also, he says to use NoScript on every darknet website, because you can't trust any to execute code on your computer. From what he told me, Tor has lots of JS websites, while i2p does not, as i2p is smaller and is more into geeky security stuff. Also, apparently there are illegal stuff going on there as well, but to a much lesser extent than Tor network and you won't find it easily, unless you specifically look for it.

Also, people, don't confuse darkwebs with deepwebs. Darkwebs are the private networks mentioned above, while deepwebs are sites that are in the normal internet, but are not indexed by search engines and are only available directly through the URL.

Of course, even though the dark web is "popular" for red rooms and assassins for hire and stuff like that, most red rooms you will come across are fake and there is actually "nice" things on it. There are white hat hackers and other things like that.

i mean once my friend went on a drug website, because its one of the most legal things you can do (if you dont buy anything). it seemed pretty neat, wit meth, weed, cocaine and some normal medicine too (so you can buy w/o prescription). Tor is the best way, but you have to know the IP adresses as there is no search engine for the dark web.

You're on the darkweb now kinda. You're prolly not accessing this through a Tor network, so its not really the deepweb, but this site is pretty "off the beaten path."

So. . . just curious. I came across this YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE2wxi3RfJc

and these guys are talking about being into "dark web" and apparently there's a site there where you can purchase a "best friend" (?) To anyone who visited the dark web/or familiar with the dark web how valid is this? or are these guys full of shits?

A relatively safe way of accessing the deep/dark web through TOR is by using a computer exclusively for that purpose, and using the TAILS OS (The Amnesiac Incognito Live System) using a usb drive. Once you're finished there's no evidence left on your computer. Just keep in mind TOR can be quite slow, as it bounces your packets through a number of servers before accessing the DNS
