I've been struggling for the past few months in my Computer Science class and I need some help. I'm in high school—Grade 11— and the teacher doesn't really teach us the theory before diving into coding. I have never taken a programming class before, so I have to work twice as hard to get a similar understanding and result as my seniors. Right now, we're working in PHP. Any resources that can help me with $_sessions?
I'm taking ICS because I want to become an indie game developer. My friends are really excited for the psychological puzzle I plan to make, but my teacher suggests I take math because I'm not getting a result as quickly as the other students who have programmed before. I know it's unfair and pretty rude, but I'm still feeling super discouraged. I am smart (I've always been an honour student), I just have major learning curve going on with no resources given for me to develop my learning. I'm basically learning how to code in that class blindly.
Anything helps, thank you!
(I've already discussed with the teacher and asked for a course syllabus and resources, but I've gotten nothing since the course started :/ )

Sites like w3Schools, khan academy, and codeacademy are helpful.
https://www.w3schools.com/php/
Khan Academy offers courses too.
