Been thinking about this for awhile as a bit of a modernization for the whole Dollars idea. Decentralized social media seems to be the way to go on this, I'm familiar with setting up Mastodon in particular.
Open source, and can be locked down to an invitation only system. Like a private clubhouse, just more accessible and profile persistence.

I think a rebranding is a good idea, but only if it's advertised openly, removes captchas, and stays similar to the feel of this site.
I've wanted a non-dollars dollars site for a long time now.
If you can make it happen and you do it well, I'll support you.
Otherwise, I'm out.

Tripcodes for identification and moderators to remove truly cancerous people.

History if reddit had a better reputation, didn't have crappy mods in every other sub, and didn't promote propaganda and low-quality shitpost content, it'd be pretty close to what we need.
If Reddit and dollars had a sexy baby that was genetically modified to only keep its best traits; that's what we need.
