Lately my mother who is a serious control freak has decided to put the most insane restrictions on my school computer and it is seriously interfering with my school work. in fact this sight is one of the only i can access. dose anyone have any idea how to get around it. the software she is using is K9 web protection. thanks

First thing i would try would be a VPN. There are some free out there, but i would recommond windscribe, it contains 10GB free usage per month. For school research only, it should be enough.
If it doesn't work, please write again so i'll try to help.
(you only need a windscribe web addon if you're using firefox)

If you have the administator right, you can try to disable it when you need it and enable it when you finish.

you can make next computer user, then add next disk partition and give premision to write on it only to this new user, then set password to it. If it dont work try to set new partiton --> cut this softwere program that ur mom instaled to this new partition, and format it, then delete this partitiom.
ewentualy turn control program in task menager
