Looking into getting a new phone since my phone is on its way out, and I need some suggestions.
I currently have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, looking into the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, OnePlus 3T, Google Pixel, iPhone 6S Plus, or the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
Kind of shying away from anything other than the S7 because nothing I have uses USB Type-C yet, and aside from my Macbook Pro and iPad 2 I don't really have anything from the Apple ecosystem.
I'm also looking to save the most money possible which is why I'm looking into getting the OnePlus 3T and just dealing with the USB Type-C.

I've always heard about how fragile the edge phones are but I've had my S6 edge+ for 2 years and I haven't damaged it at all :P guess it's just a luck of the draw kinda thing

If you haven't already done it, clearing the system cache on your phone might help with some of your problems, it helped with mine.
For reference google f'd over the old models of smart phones. The nougat update kills the battery on my s7, along with my friends smartphones. Googling this problem showed that it happens on all the older model phones, not just samsung. I don't know if Google pulled an apple, or if they didn't put enough resources into the new OS version. My phone used to last about 1 1/2 days on a full charge, now it lasts about 1/2 a day. That is after I cleared the system cache, since it drained a full charge in 3 hours before I did that. There is also some small features that are still broken in the nougat update, like how clicking on a contact details leads to a blank screen.
You can get a tempered glass screen protector as well, it saved me from many cracks on the phone screen.
