Can i5 handle streaming? (11)

I'm planning to build a 600$ computer and I was wondering if the i5 can stream at like 780 resolution or something a bit lower and around 40/50 fps. I plan on streaming games like overwatch tf2 and csgo. Also will these setting be good for streaming, I'm new to both building and streaming. :3

It mostly depends on your GPU and your RAM and your internet connection speed (upload). I have a laptop with an about equivalent of i3 processor with integrated graphics. And because TF2 is not an CPU/GPU intensive game, you should be fine... However, if you get into any problems, lower your graphic settings in the game... Idk about overwatch...

A bit of advice when it comes to building: triple check that ALL of the parts will fit... Make sure you have enough power in your system (because that will cause the PSU to die (mine did twice now)).

If you're stuck with anything, feel free to email me: c3ypt1c@gmail.com.

>>3 Highly suggest getting a GPU with more memory than the gtx 470...

780 resolution is very low and if you get a new i5, depends on the generation, it might be able to do it on its own. Of course like C3pt1c said you need a decent amount of RAM to do so.

But just for 780 resolution a gtx 400 series seems adequate. But going with newer is always better. Probably should just get a 1060 opposed to a 470. The only way you will get a graphics that old is used, and I tend to shy away from used ones on the internet due to overclocking.

Yet depending on the graphics card and CPU you get you should look at the power requirements and get an adequate power supply unit.

with technology newer is usually better. Also depending on the CPU series one could be better for gaming than the other. Skylake series for example is geared towards gaming, while the new broadwell-E is made more for workstations. Generally the faster the CPU the more it is designed for gaming.

I would recommend the 8 gb edition of an rx 480. It is a little more pricey, but I think the extra 4gb is worth it.

Also I would stress on not getting a card with a stock cooling solution. I have 2 gtx 980 strix and they outperform regular gtx 980's quite a bit due to the OC capabilities.

But the i5 that you want is the best gen for gaming, which most people recommend if you are on a budget too.

Instead of the 6500 I would highly recommend the 6600k, which is only about $10 more on newegg right now. The k means its unlocked and is a lot easier to OC, also it has a boost clock of 3.9 GHz opposed to the 3.6 GHz on the 6500.
