SLL error : SSL_ERROR_INTERNAL_ERROR_ALERT (7)

Hi !

I hed this error while attempting to connect securely to the chat :

"An error occurred during a connection to drrr.com. Peer reports it experienced an internal error. Error code: SSL_ERROR_INTERNAL_ERROR_ALERT"

Another browser returned "Peer failed to perform TLS handshake"

Do you have an idea of what does this message means ? Will the service work later ?

And why can I no longer establish an https connection to the chat ? Accidental or voluntary ?

I would tell you to move it to the FAQs thread, but simply do not have the energy.

What kind of browser are you using?

>>2 That's not really a question about the chatroom, but about the SSL protocol.
Additionally, this is not a frequently asked question.

I'm using Firefox.

Actually, it could become one, should the chat bug when being used alongside Firefox. From what I've read, this is usually caused when the site you are trying to access is using an outdated TLS when trying to establish a secure connection. I would suggest that you try using a different browser to access the chat, or wait for an update to address this. Since it seems to be an error in the chats TLS, then it is a question about the chat, and other members running your version of Firefox are probably having a similar problem. I would ask that you copy and paste your problem and solution to the FAQs, so that, should other members have a problem down the line, it will be easier to find. I'm thinking of starting an ongoing index of bugs within the chats soon, so that people will be able to find solutions easier.

This works neither with Firefox 47.0, nor with Icecat 38.8.0-5.fc23, nor with Links 1:2.12-1.fc23, nor with Gnome web 1:3.18.5-1.fc23.

If it doesn't work on those browsers, then it means that the TLS is really outdated, and you'll have to wait for an update.
