Some of us may be aware of a few YouTube channels that upload content every few minutes containing only colored squares and eerie tones. I don't know much for certain except that all the following channels were created on Mar. 7th, 2013.
Webdriver Torso:

Webdriver YPP:

Webdriver IVPE:

It easy to assume these channels are harmless and likely used for some rather boring form of video quality testing. But I still have some questions.
1. Why is Ekaterina Basic's URL "MrWebdriver"
2. Why so many channels seemingly doing the same job?
3. What does "YPP" and "IVPE" stand for?
4. (Probably the most confusing.) Why is Webdriver Torso subscribed to joueurdugrenier and aggro.tv?

Here's the accepted explanation, but it only describes the need for one channel, and answers none of my questions.
