Tor isn't hard to install, just go to the site and download the installer and boom.
The difference if that it allows you to browse sites without being tracked.
Pro: Easy to use( based off of the Firefox browser) and is anonymous
Cons:Super slowwww at times, but if you don't wanna get tracked, it's probably worth it.

Have you read up on this at all?
Tor is used to access the deepweb, the deepweb is where sites that you can't get too on the surface web are located.
Used by people in foreign countries to evade watch by their government, online drug dealers and countless other things.
It's not magic.

Tor was designed by the government for undercover operators so that they could communicate with each other without being traced, so anything illegal you do on here is completely untraceable unless the cops get ahold of your computer.

I'll tell you right now, your going to find a LOT of hairy shit on their. Pay-per-view killings, human sex dolls, the list goes on and on. When you are on the deepweb, excercise caution, because you can/will come into contact with criminals on there.

Never give out any personal information about yourself or anybody close to you, anything telling will attract some sick fucks from every corner.

Research the websites that you are planning to visit, you have no idea what unpleasant surprises could be in store, such as a website that logs all personal information on your computer upon entry.

Remember that you are never completely anonymous on the deep web. Programs such as PunkSpider can find weak points in deep web sites and possibly learn your identity. It is unlikely that it is able to break into the higher class websites, such as the Silk Road, but be cautious nonetheless. It is also possible for the government and others to learn of your activities if you are running an outdated version of Mozilla, so keep it up to date.

If this is simply for curiosity,I suggest that you do not use the deep web, and instead just read about what others experienced, there is no need to dive headfirst into shit you aren't ready for. If you decide to ignore this however, then I wish you the best of luck.

Tor's a kind of browser that can keep you anonymous (if you follow its intrustion)
Don't torrent.
Don't install any browser plugin.
Don't download any thing.
I recommended using virtual pc with tor, it'll be safer.
But surfing darknet's still not a good idea, be careful.

Hey OP, how about you read Tors website, where they tell you everything you will ever need to know on the matter? Then, try googling your question, where this has been asked about a billion times before. Stick to IE, you clearly can't handle anything else.

You only find bad stuff (drugs, red rooms, etc.) if you look for it. Tor is a lot like any other browser. You can Google stuff find different pages and documents, and stuff like that. The difference between Tor and Google is that Google just browses the surface web. The surface web is just a small part of the internet, majority of it residing in the deep Web. You can use For to browse the deep Web, and find stuff that you wouldn't find using Google, such as research papers, some books, and much more. What you search for is what you find. So if you look for a hitman, that's what you get. If you look for a research paper, that's what you get. It's like a hammer. You could beat someone over the head with it, or use it to build someone shelter. It in itself isn't necessarily bad; instead it depends on the user.
