Just for the sake of it both suck. Dell's have poor customer service and the pc's are subpar for the price. Also Apple's computers are very overprices, but I hear their customer service is pretty good.
To get the best pc possible I would say you would have to build it yourself, that way it has the best parts you want in a set price range.
There is pros and cons to each companies products. I am not the biggest fan of apples OS, but I don't like the direction Microsoft is going either.
