Hi Everyone, So I have been having issues lately getting on youtube and other cites due to the schools firewall. when I connect to the wifi at school the firewall blocks tons of cites such as Youtube, Soundcloud, Etc. I am looking for a VPN to join because my house router wont support setting up the VPN due to its model. PLEASE HELP!

You shouldn't need a VPN to access it; use TOR otherwise to get around school firewalls (assuming you're using a laptop)

How are you connected to the Internet AT HOME ?

An optical fiber connectivity should be fast enough on uploads and downloads to allow you to route all your traffic via your home.

I'll look how to set up a VPN between your computer and one at home.

A proxy server can be created on GNU/Linux with Squid or OpenSSH. Also, on Windows you can use PuTTY. Everything is explained on the internet.

You computer does not need to be powerful at all to run a proxy, so you can use an old laptop or a Raspberry pi for that purpose.

Whatever, don't forget to set up a login/password authentication.

If your school's firewall is pretty basic, you can still try to use another DNS server or to edit your windows "hosts" file.

(and I don't advise you to use Google's servers since such a service can track whatever you do)

Will you be able to recover blocked site's in address and record it into the host file ?

Can you reply to tell whether the change of DNS server or the using a hosts file works ?

And what about changing your DNS server ?
That works on the most basic site-blocking systems.

Just make a live tails USB drive and boot it on any computer, also conveniently lets your route everything through tor.
