So, I was all excited to put Halo Wars 2 on pre-order for PC, however, and I have no idea how I missed it, it says that it's a Windows 10 exclusive. I have Windows 7. So I figured, ok, no big deal. If Windows 10 can support all the games I currently have, then there's no problem. But somehow I also missed the whole privacy invasion debacle that came out last July or August.

So now I really want to know, is it really as big of an issue as people are making it out to be? Can it all be permanently turned off? Would I be able to play any Windows 10 exclusive games on Linux/SteamOS(Because I will gladly swap over to those.)?

You can install win10 to an external drive and actually run it like a local disk.

I found it while trying to run an OS on a flash drive, but couldn't get it working. It's recommended you use an external hard drive with a usb 3.0 connection.
