I think it's not worth the effort to write one yourself, buy it somewhere or use software. someproviders provide (heh) stuff like that. btw, with html only you can't do stuff like that, you'll need at least php.

You may want to check out this site's html to get a basic understanding of how it works. Just inspect element (if you are in chrome or some other browsers) and examine it closely. You would also need to know javascript probably, php definitely, and maybe linux/bash (if you want to have your own server.) Hope this helps!
