Serious performance problem (9)

Hi, fellow Dollars.
Let me preface this by saying although I am an avid gamer, I'm not very knowledgable about computers or gaming technology.
Earlier today I did a couple of separate things: First, I installed the Battlefront beta; secondly, now realising that I don't seem to run any particular intel software, I updated my intel drivers at the behest of the game itself; thirdly, I had to uninstall and reinstall my GE Experience software and drivers to fix an online connectivity issue.
I also switched Metal Gear Solid 5 from my SSD to my external HD back and forth a couple of times, but I don't think that had any affect.
Anyway, now, whenever I try to run games from Steam, ones that used to run perfectly are unplayably slow. MGS V is an example, I ran it on the high settings before, now I can't even managing minimum. I double checked this against AC 4 as well, same situation. The weird thing is that the Battlefront beta works perfectly with high settings, no hitches at all.
Does anybody have any ideas as to my problem? I'd greatly appreciate help.

Those are the specs of my computer. The only thing that's changed is I switched out the installed HD for a SSD.

By installing and uninstalling so many things your drivers could be messed up. Have you downloaded the newest driver from NVidia/GeForce.com? Meaning not through Geforce experience.

Also why did you have to install a newer intel driver? That is usually included with factory install or with the motherboard CD. What told you that the CPU driver is bad? if it was battlefront beta then maybe they changed some of the drivers for the CPU to make the game playable. So you could reinstall your factory CPU drivers if that is the case.

Also if you did install the newest NVidia driver you could always re-install the previous one you had. That would just check if the new graphics driver is faulty for your system.

>>4 The newest NVIDIA driver is for Battlefront, and it installed perfectly after I reinstalled Experience. I also tried to manually install the older NVidia driver for MGS V off the website, but I think it was incompatible with Windows 10 because it only gave me an error message.

With the intel driver, when I first tried to play the Battlefront beta it popped up with a little error message basically saying "You have X version of Intel graphics, you should have Y version. If you don't update it may cause serious problems with the game". So I downloaded the Intel Update tool and attempted to download the updated graphics driver off there. Double checking though, it never seems to have fully installed, because I still have the option to download and install it, even after I've gone through the process multiple times.

With reinstalling factory drivers, how would I go around doing that? I've tried both dedicated and integrated cards with multiple games to the same effect. The card that's running Battlefront perfectly is my Nvidia dedicated, however.

So the problem most likely lies with the intel driver. I have never updated my intel drivers, unless through win update in which I never noticed. There might be a way through intel to manually reinstall an older driver for the chip. Otherwise you might have to factory restore, or restore from system image, to fix the driver.

I don't know much on the intel drivers, since I never really encountered any problems with them. So there are probably better ways going about it.

Also win10 is still in the beta stage, so that could be some reasons as to why applications, or hardware, aren't the most compatible yet. I still don't have the update ready since the win10 app only tells me that my copy is reserved. Looking more into it they hint at saying win10 is still a beta and they are still working on compatibility issues with some hardware and applications.

So it could be win10 not being fully compatible with the latest intel drivers. Their workload is already quite enormous due to making almost all hardware and software work with win10.

Just something that came to mind, can you check if your graphics card is the primary GPU? It could be that the games are using the intels GPU as the main one and the NVidia as the secondary. Nvidia control panel is one way I think you can configure applications with the GPU.

>>7 I think I set the Nvidia card to be preferred globally on my computer, but I'll double check.

Otherwise it does look like the intel driver might still somehow be the problem. I'll do some more research into how I might restore it back to the previous version, or delete some of the problematic aspects.

Thank you for your assistance, it's been really helpful :)
