I am remaking this topic so that it shows the link right up front. Firstly, this topic is telling people my friend and I have our own drrrchat, and that to a big degree, it is in working order minus some bugs here and there and a few obviously known issues, which won't keep you from actually chatting.

If anyone wants to be testers who actually go out and look for bugs, I can allow you access to the admin account, which currently all you can do is view all chatrooms at once in an admin chat room, while being able to post a message in there that appears in all other chats at once, as well as being able to use a custom icon of mine.

Some icons don't work, some do, and that is one of the known issues at hand.

I wouldn't mind testing.

Tested it for a bit, will there be private chatrooms in the future? Like you can only join if you have a name and password of the chatroom. That's what me and my friends have been missing on the suggested one. If you want to, you can give me the admin account and I'll tell my friends to use this one for a while and report back the bugs.

Should probably remove the 'in'.

Also, you can't tag people by clicking their name if you have turned off the animation for the reply boxes appearing. If I have that on, the words sometimes wrap underneath the box and it doesn't resize. I think this was a problem with the original too, not sure.

I don't know the mechanics behind this, I'm just observing.

Well my friend hosting it is busy with a game so nothing can even be done onto it right now. He hosts it all, so he is paying to host it is that is what you mean.

Not sure if it's open source but I'm looking for a better, possibly open source drrrchat that I can send to him and him replace the original with.

We can either remake the thing in node.js or use the drrr-like-chat script. I would like to ask right now if you're interested in using your own hosting+domain.

I cannot pay to host it or get a domain currently. But I'm sure my friend is willing to just replace what he has on his own host.

He also said he'd be willing to give you access to it.

An upgraded drrr-like-chat if there is any, would be better anyway.

Kind of off topic but that cyberconnects domain reminds me. Were you a part of that .hack Fangame The World's community? I think we used to use that domain.
