Tech companies 'of the now' seem to think that wearable technology is the future. Not sure about that personally, but I think that RFID-like wearables with the capacity to store lots of information will be a big thing in the future.

I think that the next thing will be things like virtual reality. Maybe not on the level of like Sword Art Online or Accel World, but there are many companies racing to become the big name virtual reality company. Things like the Holo Lens might just be the next big thing.
