Driverless Cars (7)

1 Name: X : 2015-02-11 08:23 ID:Jy0S5mW6 [Del]

Odds are, that in the next decade we will be taken to work, school or where ever in cars that drive themselves. Most people probably see this as people becoming more and more lazy; however, these driverless cars could prove to increase safety on the road. But like any machine, they could malfunction which would cause so many other issues.

What are your thoughts on these cars, that will soon probably become common.

Well driverless cars in there current state are safer than humans for example Google has had there cars drive tens of thousands of miles without getting into any accidents that where the computer was at fault so I for one embrace our new robot overlords

The next decade won't be so bad, your looking for all the negative things that come in the future, try looking for the more positive. For example, they might produce the VR nerve gear by 2025. Exiting, right?

Driverless cars are less safe than human driven cars and they increase congestion on roads. Until we can affordably stick the processing power in the cars necessary to accommodate every possible scenario that could arise while driving and the decision making involved with resolving those issues, we will not have safe automated cars, full stop.

Are there even sources to show how unsafe they are? They've been in actual road tests for awhile.
