So I found this the other day and thought it was pretty interesting. It's a biodegradable gel that when applied to a wound helps the blood clot and stop bleeding withing seconds. Currently it's about to be available on the market to veterinarians so it'll have field testing before being eventually marketed for people. I believe it's a great breakthrough in medical science and hope it gains quick success. It reminds me of the Optican MediGEl from Halo ODST for anybody who's played the game. http://www.ted.com/talks/joe_landolina_this_gel_can_make_you_stop_bleeding_instantly
This looks extremely useful for serious intraveinous injuries, and I'm very sure hemophiles everywhere will rejoice if/when it becomes available to commonfolk. It sounds amazing. So in order to contribute to the thread, I'll do this.
