Best Monitor Size for Split-Screen Gaming (1)

Yo. I figure this goes here. Me and my brother are looking to get an Xbox One soon, but sadly, you can only play it on an HDTV. However, we don't own an HDTV, just an old SDTV that we've had for a couple of years. Since HDTV's are quite expensive, we've decided to just get and HD Computer Monitor since it's gonna be used strictly for gaming anyway. However, me and my brother are also big split-screen gamers, and we love to have friends over to go full 4-player split-screen. So my question to everyone here would be: What would the right size monitor be for 4 player split-screen? I'm thinking somewhere between 24 - 27, possibly 23 inches. The current computer monitor I use with my PC is a 21.5 inch and it seems fine for one or two screens, but quite sure about four, especially since the new monitor would be at least 5 feet away rather than 2 or 3 feet. Thing is, it also has to be 1920x1080 resolution and have a 60hz refresh rate with an HDMI input. My 21.5 inch screen has all that, but I paid $159.99 for it. We'd prefer it if we could find something bigger, same specs, but less than $150, maybe even $100. Sadly, I've had no luck on that front. But I digress, what would the right size screen be for 4 players?
