Got a Computer Build you want to Share? (24)

1 Name: FREDRIQ !qd/L1y25ZU : 2014-01-01 04:07 ID:A6kdhLNS [Del]

I know "http://dollars-bbs.org/tech/res/1361499131.html" has one on computer build, but that was advise, this is where you share your own, or someone else's computer build that you want, like, or plan to build.

Mine: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/FREDRIQ/saved/34S6

GT 610?
You should stick a better GPU in there.
You have 1/4 of CUDA.
That's the same as GT 520.

I built this about a month ago. It is my current computer.

I should have waited for better deals but I think I did all right.

Mine was built myself under $600 and it runs a AMD Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB. :) why you ask? i had most parts i already had from older computers like a DVD Drive and a Mouse. and it runs
DMC: Devil May Cry on Ultra. not kidding.

>>5 No Shit? Great deal on that, I just want to play league on med settings, But at the moment, my crappy all-in-one computer, after all the modifications, could play it at average low with 30fps easy, But now the graphics card literally got cracked and you can't even try to play it without the computer freezing. I could build a new one in a mounth of saving minimum wage; but, as said in mt post in the Personal's section.

>>5 running DmC on Ultra is a piece of cake. Try Skyrim with 4k textures, ENB,... on ultra. You will see the world from a completely new perspective^^

Well, the PCPicker does not have my parts. So here is what I got:
- IntelCore i5 3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (OC @4.1GHz)
- ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Performance Motherboard with BIOS v2.25a (special build directlty from Korea)
- 2x 8GB DDR3 1600 GeIL Dragon RAM
- Corsair Force3 (SSD - 128GB), Solidata K8 (SSD - 120GB), 2 x Toshiba (2TB) and one Hitachi (1TB)
- ATI Radeon HD 6970
- Antec Lanboy Air (yellow)
- OCZ Fatal!ty 750W
- 1 Plextor PX-B950SA (BR/DVD/CD R/W) and 1 Plextor whatever (DVD/CD R/W) drive
- Win 8.1 x64 (Pro)
- Asus Xonar D2
- Apple Cinematic Display, LG E2711, BENQ FP2081 (well, they were presents I got over the years)
- Logitech G9x and Razer Naga 2012
- Razer Deathstalker Ultimate
- LEAP Motion
- OCZ NIA Prototype
- 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround (Sony STR-DE497 with Nubert medium speakers) and a Sennheiser PC 163D
- 2x XBOX360 controller 4 windows

I am thinking about buying new parts (8core CPU and a good NVIDIA along with a few other upgrades) in the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015.

That's quite a set up. I don't think I could get the funds to even get half that value. But it's a hell of a build there.

>>7 I've done that before with GTA IV. no problem. my memory is 4GB because for one It doesn't really need overclocking because it actually reads 4GB maximum on my windows 7 plus most games I play already run fast as most games normally would. especially is 2 with 4X MSAA on. I made my pc to run Street Fighter X Tekken and Sonic Generations. as for Controller I use a PlayStation PC adapter that lets me plug in PS1 DualShock 1 or PS2 DualShock 2 Controllers. most of my Capcom games work perfectly with this....except Valve games, those need the keyboard and mouse since I don't have an xbox 360 controller anymore. and I use my 32" Panasonic HDTV for a monitor.

I meant to say crisis 2 with 4X MSAA on. (stupid correction on internet explorer.)

11 Name: maruru : 2014-01-04 23:04 ID:mDptHwbr [Del]

>>9 well....
I think you should just try. My Skyrim is dying on my PC with 15FPS (decreased resolution helps to get it over 30 again which is playable. But I am thinking about going back in terms of graphics for this one...)
If you use any magic tricks, let me know :D

I thought there was a similar thread, but anyway.
-I have a i7 3930k
-Asus sabertooth x79
-16 gb Ram corsair vengeance
- 120 gb ssd ocz
-2tb Seagate hdd
-pny gtx 680 (probably upgrade after tax returns)
-Creative xi-fi pci titanium sound card
-corsair obsidian 650d case with 6 fans
-corsair h100 cpu cooler
-just got a lit Logitech keyboard too

A bunch of games off of steam and 360 controllers, with a bunch of emulaters too.

I think it is a simple fix to a lot of graphical issues, which might not be worth mentioning, is update your drivers. A big difference in some games for me is noticed when I update my graphics driver.

>pny gtx 680 (probably upgrade

I might upgrade the SSD first, 120GB is fairly small if you want to install programs and games on it. I'd recommend a 256GB for just games.

Also, if you are going to upgrade, I'd be happy to take that 680 off your hands...?

This is my dream build:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2xJGa

Only $7 000.

>>14 Crossfire 290X? That's almost everyone's dream build.

>>14, the only thing better is having a large living room tv with the newly announced HD settings and a remote HDMI connection. Ta would be a new definition of Boss Gaming.

All I have for now are two laptops, a Lenovo y580 on win7 that plays basically everything I need in terms of games, and a T60 running Linux Mint I picked up over the break since as it turns out I don't quite want the former to break from just lugging it around in school. Debating on whether I should throw in an ultrabay batter on top of the battery I'm ordering for it at the moment.

18 Name: Inuhakka !u4InuhakKA : 2014-01-10 07:34 ID:WEMImed9 [Del]

>>15 I should build a custom loop given the 290X's apparent heat problem, but I have no experience for that and I'd need to research it.

If I was doing a custom loop, I'd have 4 though.

>>18 I read several times that they blow up, apparently.
Might as well spend that extra and get a GTX 780.

20 Name: Inuhakka !u4InuhakKA : 2014-01-10 17:22 ID:WEMImed9 [Del]

>>19 Extra? I assume you mean the 780 Ti.

Plus, I really want to support AMD, because nVidia taking over the market would be bad.

If I was going to use nVidia, though, it'd be 2 Titans. 6GB of VRAM could support 3 screens at 1440p, or maybe even 4K.

21 Name: r00k : 2014-01-13 04:18 ID:63FOq659 [Del]

>>20 2000usd plus is quite a bit to spend solely on your graphics card(s). Even though the titan is nice, there are cheaper alternatives.

22 Name: Inuhakka !.5xqXJfr96 : 2014-01-13 09:21 ID:uvJq3lm3 [Del]

>>21

This is assuming I had $8000 to spend. It is also the only GPU with 6GB of VRAM, which is extremely useful if you are trying to run something in 4k resolution.

I agree, though. The 780ti is much better for the money.

I had a plan for a computer I was going to build for a friend, here:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/SirCatManDoo/saved/3gZA

This is pretty much the final draft, as far as it goes. Any comments?
