You will have better luck searching on a search engine like Google.

From my experience, spilling water in any kind of computer doesn't have a simple 'fix'. If it doesn't work, you'll likely have to replace parts, and I don't know how easy that is with video game consoles.

Poor rice all over the motherboard.
Open it up, or dump grains of rice into the xbox.
Wait about a week.
Shake it out.

It's just like the cell phone method.

>>3 If your Xbox is still under warranty this is just about the STUPIDEST thing you can do, to say nothing of the fact that RICE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. Don't open up your Xbox unless you know what you're doing and it's out of warranty.

The best thing to do is to KEEP IT UNPLUGGED (not just turned off) for a couple days until the water evaporates.

Don't bother with rice. It won't work, it will at best void your warranty, and anyone telling you it works is full of crap.

>>4 Yes, >>3 Rice absorbs water but I'm not sure about it absorbing just regular room temperature (or colder depending on the room the console is in) water. Diffusion plays out when its in boiling water, so daremo is right, that idea is really...stupid. So don't try it, please.

While rice can work it will void the warranty, and odds are you will not be able to get all of it out, which could just make your xbox overheat. Unplug and maybe go over it with a small towel, just don't go crazy with it.

Attempted it on my own console.
I poured approximately 2 liters of water onto my Xbox. It didn't turn on.

Then, I used the rice method as I posted above. Just left one whole day and it was working again.

why would you... just to prove a point? really?

I tried this on another Xbox. This time, two days. After those days of the rice saturating the water, my Xbox has turned into a Transformer.

To elaborate though, rice is the wet-electronics equivalent of snake oil. The reason it can't work is that rice is horrible at absorbing water from the air, so unless you really did pour it all over the inside of electronics (seriously?) it will do absolutely nothing.

So why do people honestly believe in it? Think about the way people 'prove' rice works: nothing happened to the phone, so the rice must have saved it. Absence of negative effects alone is not proof that a remedy works.

If anything did 'save' the phone, it was the fact that they turned it off, or (more likely) the fact the the water they poured on was pure enough not to conduct electricity or didn't get into the more sensitive electronics.

>>11 do you know how rice works?
rice grains absorb water X: so in theory/practise, the rice grains will absorb the water in the console.

and the proof is in that after putting the device (phone/wtvr) in a bag of rice (how i've done it), the device works again.

i can't say for sure how well it'd work for an xbox, but the rice method does work. so uh yeah /o/

>>12 I am well aware of how rice 'works,' thank you sensei.

In fact, rice absorbs water through contact. How exactly does your rice come into contact with the water INSIDE the phone? Do you disassemble your phone and stick the wet circuit boards in the rice bag?

The absence of a problem (phone dying) isn't proof that the remedy works. If you think it is, then I have some magical charms I would like to sell you.

Do the same water/rice saturation cycle on a Playstation 4 and have them duke it out.
