A phone only lasts a couple of years before it breaks or becomes obsolete. Although it's often just one part which killed it we throw everything away since it's almost impossible to repair or upgrade, creating a massive electronic waste.

Therefore some people came up with the idea of a phoneblock. basically it's a phone with different parts or blocks. Each block can be replaced if damaged or needed to be upgraded, instead of throwing the whole device and buying a new one. Support the cause if you like the idea :)

In that thread, post #9 explains why this idea won't happen and closes the discussion fairly well. Phones are optimized for speed, and this kind of phone would be so much slower than every other phone no one would buy them.
