Gamecube though cable box? (7)

Ok, so I just bought a new tv and it doesn't have the right hook-ups for my Gamecube (standard red, white, yellow). I did manage to get something on the screen but it was all in grayscale and I couldn't get any sound out of it. I saw that there is a component input on my cable box (Pace brand model TDC780X Link). So I guess my question to you all is this; is there any way to get my GC to work correctly or am I going to have to buy something that I can plug into my tv to make it all work how I want it too?

Coax cable connected to a VCR, to the TV. Then hook in the Red, White, Yellow cords to it. Done.

Thanks, but I just figured out what to do. What I did was plug in the audio cables (red and white) into the standard ports where it was lacking the yellow for video and plug the yellow one into the component side (ones made for the early HD that 360's have as well as HDMI). I'll check in here every now and then to see if there's anyone else who has this same problem. :)

you can get an adapter for that, as a lot of newer T,vs dont use Red, White, Yellow cords plugins.

>>5 Are you talking about an adapter to HDMI? Otherwise this is the solution that I have found. Just follow the above picture and you should get proper audio and video.
