Hello all. I recently discovered this, and thought it'd be interesting for the Tech board. Anyways, the company tobii has developed a new system for Windows 8 computers, that uses your eyes to navigate through your computer. It's simple to use, you plugin it into your Windows 8 computer (some have it built in), and then you calibrate your eyes, so it knows what to track. After a minute of that, you can then use your eyes has your navigation on your computer.

So, it completely eliminates out the mouse, instead, you use the Del (Delete) key to click on something. (I don't know what you'd use for the right click replacement.)

If you want to see it in action, here's a video:

I think one of the most faced problems would be the thing everyone experiences with wireless sensors, when they leave, the system would lose their eyes, and shoot the cursor off somewhere, and then the user would probably have to calibrate again.

Another thing is, if your a developer like me, you don't always look where your clicking at, so if I want to open my Chrome browser, yet I'm looking at a source code, it wouldn't open it for me '~'

Don't sage topics that don't even need to be saged. It's people like you who use it on shit that is legit.

What about at night because my galaxy s3 has a feature that makes it stay on if you are looking at the screen. It doesn't work in the dark so unless that has night vision our you keep the brightness of your computer up it would not work. Also if you don't have a webcam built in and you accidentally move it would you need to recalibrate? It is a good idea but I would never use it because I am a gamer and a mouse would work better for playing minecraft or another game.

Well, it depends on how they programmed it enough. Also, they're planning on building them into Windows 8 computers, so I got ahead of myself. Right now, you buy the little sensor thing that can stick to the top of your computer, and plug it into a USB port. Anyways, you'd figured that using any screen with LCD's or regular backlights, would still show your face, giving the sensor just enough needed to track the eyes. But still, I think it's too much trouble, probably useful to people who have problems with their hands, or hard times with a computer mouse.
