First off I will say I am sorry if they're is another thread they already says this. I have been looking around and everyone has been saying that Windows 8 is the worst thing ever. I was just wondering why because I don't see what is so bad even though I don't have a Windows 8 computer.

*There
Personally I find Windows 8 WAY confusing, but everything has it's ups and downs. I like the Windows 8 Phones a lot, though.

Yes it does, you can't play slender or any other games or install other programs that arn't on the windows site usually.

It's the point that it was made with a targeted device of touch. They weren't clearly thinking how they should improve the OS for Desktops/Laptops, instead they were worried how it was going to be used on tablets, which makes me a bit ashamed of Windows. In my view, Windows 7 was the best windows OS ever, but now I think I'd get the latest Unbuntu OS'.

My new laptop has Windows 8 on it. It took a little bit of getting used to because a lot of the shortcuts are a little different and the start menu pretty much took me aback on its own. But I got used to it after a while.

I heard that there are some computer 'tricks' that you could do on Windows XP and Windows 7 but apparently you can't do them on Windows 8. I haven't personally experienced anything of the sort so far.

One of the little things that really bugged me was that you pretty much need a Microsoft account to download anything from the store or use the Calendar and mail app.

>>3 I'm pretty sure you can install programs even if they aren't in the Windows store. For example, my text encryption program isn't on the Windows store but I've been able to install it anyway. Not sure why you can't play Slender though.

What you cant download things that are not in windows on is the surface tablet rt because it is running windows rt not 8 but they are coming out with the windows surface tablet pro at the end of January or some time around there and it will have an i5 processor and windows 8 pro on it then you will be able to install other applications on the tablet. no periods like a boss!
