I check my addons frequently to avoid security risks. i check today and see shockwave flash is vulnerable/outdated. So I update. But firefox still says it's outdated, even though the version # next to it is the newest version. how can i fix this?
ok, this is weird, the same thing happened when i updated java. i even verified to make sure i installed it correctly. why does firefox still say these addons are outdated when they aren't?
It could be a glitch within the browser itself (newer/older browser, older/newer version of the software). Or, you may have installed an extension, yet it's still accessing an older system version. I'd say update the system version if you haven't already done so. Other than that, dunno what to tell you. I'm on Chrome, which has a Flash backbone, so to speak. It's been having problems lately, however, so it could always just be Adobe's fault.
I've given up on the addon issues, but now i have another. I use avast antivirus, and when i checked statistics, it said i needed flash player to view them. so i clicked install flash player. But when i installed it straight from adobe, it was called "install_flash_player.exe" when i got it from avast's link it was called "fl32.exe" My question is: what does your flash player install file look like? fl32 or install_flash? really don't wanna get a virus
i should also add that when i used install_flash_player(the one from adobe) to install flash it worked, so im curious why avast told me it didn't and had me download fl32(which oddly came from avast). before i install fl32, i'd like to know if it's really some obscure virus/spyware or something
>>10 Don't do this. This browser eats memory. It's just murder.
>>1 Download the Shockwave Flash and install it. Then close Firefox and reopen it. If that doesn't work, re-install Shockwave and then restart your comp. That should do it.
