so i have a dual core processor laptop, and Hard Drive 1 is out. the reason why. it happened last week, i turned on my laptop and start up restore poped out. i let it run then it went to starting windows. it froze on the screen shot. i didn't turned it on until today. i did a system check and that's how i found out it Hard Drive 1 is out. is there a way to replace it? i know if i do then i have to do restore to factory settings and reinstall windows. but i want to if i can replace it and how much does it cost?

Sounds like your hard drive is dying on you, if not already doing that. Check if it actually is by checking the drive with hddscan if you somehow get in to the OS.

If your hard drive is indeed dying, check if your warranty is up yet send it in to get it replaced. If you need to buy a new one, check newegg or a computer store, they cost ~$100 nowadays for a 750 gb drive.

For backing up your old stuff, you can get an hdd enclosure to access the hard drive as a usb device by moving the old hard drive over to it.

Newegg is a good place to start. Just make sure you get an enclosure that is compatible with your HDD
