The Google Chromebook is a brand new laptop from the Google Company. It looks very good, and awesome. First, it's fast. It boots up in seconds, and uses the latest web technology to load web pages with epic blazing speeds! It has Google Chrome built in as the default browser, and has its own little-like taskbar.

As soon as you get on, you'll see your desktop screen and all your downloaded apps, and they aren't grouped together, causing a ugly mass of app icons making your desktop screen ugly! It also opens the web in just a few seconds, and has a built in Google Play, so you can download free and for sell music, books, games, and apps. It also has apps like Google Docs and Zoho for presentations to make work quicker.

The best of all the features, is the Chrome Remote Desktop. It lets you use the system of another computer around you on a Chrome tab, as if it was already as your computer program! For example, I have acer Windows 7 All in One desktop. With the Chrome Remote Desktop, I can connect and use the Windows 7 desktop on the Chromebook!
It also has the Cloud built in to store videos, photos, and others and keep it safe, with built-in virus protection!

Plus, the best, is you get all starting at $299!

My brother has a First Generation Chromebook (I forget the model number). He loves it, even though it has a few bugs being first generation. Since everything he does is online anyway, it works for him.

However, I would never get a Chromebook because there are a lot of applications I use that aren't on the Cloud. If I really wanted an app based operating system, I would get JoliCloud OS. Basically, its a combination of Chromium OS and Linux, meaning you can use the features of Chrome and Linux interchangeably, and that's the most versatile option out there.

>>4 Yeah, I somewhat agree, but I'm a technology guy, so I'd love to try all sorts of technology.

I'm about to buy a Chromebook. Help me decide between the Toshiba ($280), the HP ($280), the Acer C720 ($200), and the Samsung ($250).
Please <3

>>7 It all depends on what you're going to use it for. Chromebooks are better off being used for Schoolwork and organizing documents online since everything is linked to your google account.

Research papers, projects, tables and data. That sort of stuff.

My school has these Google Chromebooks, and I have to admit, they are very lovely for schoolwork, but the keyboards and mouse work slightly different as a normal computer or mac might. There is no caps lock button, so you would have to repeatedly press shift while trying to write something in capitals, and it can get quite confusing at first. It is nice though, as it has a small, slim build (I'm wondering quite a bit why no one has stolen our school Chromebooks yet, hehe!~) and one account connects to everything. Although, I'm not quite sure if they have different kinds of these pieces of technology. Like what Sirius has said, it is better off being used just for simple things, and it might be useless for gaming purposes.

>>11 Exactly. I honestly never noticed there wasn't a caps lock button hahaha....
But in my opinion, the Chromebooks are excellent. As long as one has a strong wifi connection. No wifi= no chromebook. The apps for Word, Powerpoint, etc. are a bit confusing at first, but you soon get used to it all. It's a relatively simple design and usage concept. Tip: Right clicking is either two fingered or Alt+click. Getting pictures onto a Powerpoint presentation can be difficult. I found it easiest to save the picture, move it to my Google Drive (which one needs for this), then upload it from there onto the presentation. The Google Drive can get crowded, so folders are suggested. That's my opinion and tips on the Chromebook. 8/10. 2 points taken because of wifi and awkwardness from changing from Windows.

It was okay at most. If you don't have a great internet connection the whole thing sucks. I didn't think it was too confusing. As someone who uses multiple accounts, it was a bit annoying at first. But I guess for schoolwork it's easy to use if you already use google drive.
