This is such an awesome pen and I want it too!! >w< It's called the Color Picker Pen and basically what you do is scan any object around you. After placing the pen against an object, the user (that's you) just presses the scan button. The color is being detected by the color sensor and the RGB cartridge of the pen mixes the required inks to create the target color. This superb device will help people to observe the changing colors of nature. With color picker, all range of artists will be able to cerate a more sensorial and visual insight of their surrounding nature’s colors.

So, it basically borrows from a software technology that's been around for more than 20 years. That's cool.
But seriously, it's basically putting the power of a printer in your pen. You can now access 1.7 Million different colors based on the HEX system. I think that's amazing.
