I had posed this in the missions board, but that was the wrong board to put this in. So, now I'm putting it in the correct board.
I believe there were a couple of things similar to this posted, but not quite on this level. I didn't know where to post it so I figured this section was the best place. I want to start a site called DollarDonations. The main reason for the name is because I figure it can be part of the Dollars. The other reason is because it'll mention about only needing to donate one dollar. There are few people who can't spare a dollar. Obviously, you'd be able to donate however much you like. IT can be more or less. At the end of every month all of the money collected will be sent to a different organization (cancer, animal shelter, invisible children, etc.). There will be a poll for the next donation.
I'm posting this because I want to make sure that if I do this you guys will donate some too. I don't care if it's only a dollar. With the large amount of people here, if you all donate a dollar a month we can make a great change and collect a lot of money to donate. I will run the site and keep it relatively simplistic. I really am just asking yo all if you'd support me and help get the word out if I started it so I can be collecting large amounts of money to donate to another place every month and make a huge difference.

I think if you can come up with a business model (yes, even nonprofit organizations have business models) that explains how the site will be created and funded, how the money will be collected and stored, and how to keep track of donations over time, then more people will be open to such an idea.

Thank You. I most certainly will need help with that. I'd have to figure out when I'll start. I know I'm going to be busy for a while, but I won't give up on this idea. Especially if someone can help me out. I won't know what I'm doing on my own. :(

Sorry about the double post. My internet was acting up and going out. When that happens it refreshes the page a lot resulting in multiple posts. That wouldn't be the first time it happened. I usually don't use the internet when it's acting up, but what can I say? I love you guys too much. I like coming here every day to see what's new and posting a few new thread myself, if it hasn't been covered of course.

I think this is a really good idea, it would be nice to donate to various charitys instead of only focusing on one

If people want to donate, they can donate to the charity of their choice rather than just pool money into a charity that they exhale less value for than another. From what I read here, you only donate to one charity per month. If you were to create this site, I think it would be better if you gave a list of charities that a member can donate to, so that more than one group benefits every donation period.
