Hajime Sakamoto is a man on a mission. A big, big, multi-colored, vulcan-cannon equipped mission. He’s a scientist. He’s a businessman. And he wants to build life-size Gundam with a working cockpit.

Ladies and gentlemen: here’s where nerds all over the world quit life and re-dedicate themselves to robotics and mechanical engineering.

Sakamoto is the head of the Hajime Research Institute, and he’s a man that knows from robots, so we can assume that he and his team of spirited collaborators are in it to win it. His company has set up a Facebook page for the effort (Japanese-only) and is currently looking for finance and support.

(Do I smell a kickstarter?)

if you want more info on the GUNDAM RX-78 that was at Shizuoka

Well, this is the start of Japanese taking over America and then the entire world. It starts with harmless making Gundams move, but then... THEN they're gonna put in lasers and guns.

Then, they're gonna invade America for the land, and then force the Americans to live in Japan so that they experience the fucking earthquakes and shit, while the Japanese live comfortably here. And then, what's stopping them from taking over the world.

Hurr durr.

Destruction of America via a working Gundam...? Yknow what? Compared to all the ways I've imagined America being overcome, this one seems worth it. derp

So this is what it's come to. We're all fucked, because Gundams will be made life-sized. What they aren't telling the public is that they will be fully functional automatons, with guns and missiles built into every possible part of the machine. And they will shoot lasers from the chest, and/or wrists.

Seriously though, if my death was somehow caused by a life-sized Gundam, it would be glorious. I would want someone standing by with a video camera rolling as it vaporized me.

Anyway, cool massive action figure.

It begins as a harmless venture on a major otaku, but, like everything else, the government will want to turn it into a weapon.

Just the gov....anyone still scared of Anonymous? I've always wanted one of these. People wish for a train set or a pony....I wished for a giant robot.
>>1 he's right this is the only reason I would go into engineering.

>>8 I don't think Anonymous will give 2 shits about this project; they might troll it but no more than that. They fight usual for the freedom of information and no censorship.

Making the machine actually work well enough to move quickly, shoot stuff, and use destructive laserbeams would take a massive energy source, and as far as i know one hasnt been found yet. Time will tell i supppose.
>>10 i think ive seen another one of those over a shop
