I'd get that app, as soon as possible. I know it'd be a big success. It seems Durarara, has more of an appeal to Teenagers and Adults, because of the maturity of the show, while keeping some funny, childish ascects, but not so much as to where it's annoying.

Ok so here is my thinking. I know we hate duplicate threads but I say, no I beg that we create a new thread for this app. One that has all the info >>197 in the first post (that way the info is always visible no matter what). Yeah but when the info isn't within the four posts that are visible from the preview that is partially when people come asking questions because they are to stupid/lazy to hit "Entire Thread" and read anything else. At least with having the new topic, that info would be in post 1 and always visible at all times, and honestly in my opinion this thread could very much use a 2.0 anyways, but that's my opinion.

Just in case someone missed the boat for a good couple of months, let me restate this: The chat that the chatroom button above links to? It doesn't belong to us. Odds are that to get what you need to link an app to that chat is that you'll need to wrangle it out of the notoriously tight-lipped creator of that chat. So, if you REALLY want a chat in the app, then you need to either:
1) Get said tight-lipped creator to loosen up
2) Have a dedicated server owned by the app creator host a functional chat

I guess now is a good time to say that I think that option number 2 is the more likely one?

What if we made a team of app designers either on this app or (a) future one(s), and use team viewer, skype/team speak to communicate and it would work faster and smoother. So we would divide the work of different tasks!

Right now there is no Dollars App for iDevices but there is one alternative, it is basically bookmarking a website but so far it's the closest thing we got.

Given it has the image of the dollars from the anime and the fact the 'site' itself supposedly looks like ours, too (given where ours was originally based from) wouldn't that be infringing on the copyright?

So, X4xy4 said he would have this done for the iPhone a few weeks after November 10, 2011. It's almost been a year since his last post, which said he was going to have it done and released for the summer of 2012. I'd like to ask when the app is going to come out, but only the author knows and he's been MIA for a while. Being patient is a nice thing, but there haven't been any updates in a while, so patience isn't exactly a good answer to the question of "when?" One last question. Why did X4xy4's ID change? Thiamor asked this question and received no response. X4xy4 has made two posts in the year since Thiamor's question -- neither contain an answer. I've got this strange feeling that all of this is some silly hoax. The original X4xy4 may have just wanted to start a thread and watch the trolls peak out. Or maybe he started the project and gave up without responsibly letting us know that the project is over. Maybe he found other interests and simply forgot about it. Now, the more recent X4xy4 is possibly someone new. Why he wants to keep this thread alive, I have no idea. If it turns out he just got a new computer or something, fine. Give us more frequent updates, please. You started this whole thread and this thread is your responsibility. I'm not asking for you to finish the app ASAP or give out information. It's been a while since I've visited this thread. After reading through it from the last time I commented to the most recent post, there are a few things I'd like to add my commentary to.

Yes, it's been a while since OP has commented, or updated us on the status on the publication of the app he supposedly completed. I get that people are tired of waiting, but complaining about it won't make it come any faster. If you're that desperate for an app, I suggest you or a friend make one yourself.

In regards to the requests/demands for the thread to be saged or closed, I'd say I agree with Thiamor at this time. OP may be preoccupied with his life outside the BBS, it's understandable that he doesn't devote more time than he has to a project he started for fun in the first place. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that he's abandoned the project, or this thread completely. He could very well come back, and update us that the app has finally been published. I don't see why OP should be forced to recreate a thread just because they had more pressing matters to attend to. I feel that unless OP comes out and says he's given up on the app, and that his app will not be released, this thread is still entitled to survive. Even if it sinks to the bottom of the board due to lack of bumping commentary, he'd still be able to find it and update should he return.

Again, if you think you can do a better, faster job than x4xy4, make an app yourself and let us know about your success. Otherwise, the best option is to pipe down and deal with the regular site.

I suppose I should finish with the copypasta post, to avoid at least some people asking those already-answered-questions.

I am really sorry for how long this is taking. Basically what happened is Apple said they were processing the app and that I need to wait for approval and then it will be published. I waited and they have not sent me anything abut it for about 4 months so I will keep trying to reach them but until I update again I wouldn't expect much to happen. Even if you say that I should feel bad because I want to make the app in a very short period of time, I won't - he had a very lot of time to release his app. He did not, so I think it is my good right to announce my own app and try to release it before he does.

There's a reason for him being an ass. Given it should be pretty much common sense to read posts before asking questions, and that we say it a lot to new members all over topics throughout differing boards, it's more so the posters' own fault when they get people being an ass to them.

While it's mostly the older members thus leaves a funny taste in the newbie's mouth, even newer members get annoyed with how constantly we (older and newer members) have to spam topics with "read the posts" first.

If that member had even scanned through roughly most of the important topics, they would have easily known about it.

So I really think you should take into consideration just how active Sleep is, and just how hard he and others try to keep members in line and organized. It's much harder than you think, and when you're nice about it, more times than not those people act up again.

I app this and this is not working. I have one on my computer, one on tablet and one on iphone. Sometimes it's working good, but sometimes it's just like arrrrgggh. ;/

@Beaver: make ya own thread. I began working together with x4xy4, so it's now his and my thread to present our app.

Just for your info, I am currently testing a basic version of our app on different devices with different operating systems and resolutions. It got some bugs which I don't want to confront you with.
The one I am currently working on will work on multiple operating systems and add more and more features in the near future.

Do you have any specific date when it will be released on a android market (google play)?

As I said, I am doing tests at the moment and trying to get things done - so I hope I am done soon ;)

I will not release the app in stores. I will give you a download link (QR code) for the installer files. Maybe x4xy4 wants to put it in stores (he is waiting for the apple licence at least)

Was loaded with other projects. But found a nice NetBeans plugin today which gives me some motivation to work on it despite the workload of the past weeks~

Side note: I love NetBeans - doing all kinds of web development with it :)
