I don't know where to put this, or if this belongs on this site, but I am trying to teach myself how to write code and such, I have already learned python, but I want to move to C++ and eventually UNIX. IF anyone knows any web sites that are helpful/could give me some pointers it would be much appreciated. thank you.

First learn UNIX and then c++. Learn to use the terminal / bash.

If you want to kickstart your skillz. Go download fedora or any other linux distribution. Install it on your computer and kick windows out. By doing so you force yourself to learn a lot of new freaky and cool stuff.

start small and do what i did and start moding doom and doom2
