What kind of computers do you guys use to access this site?

Do you use an Laptop? An I phone?
Feel free to brag if you need to.
And give details, Memory, Battery life, anything.
Talk about it's features and stuff. and I guess if you've named your computer...share that if you want.

Just curious because I use a cheap, used Netbook and and even older used Ipod.

2 Name: Shad : 2011-08-02 04:17 ID:P2mACe4T [Del]

Laptop and Iphone
I use a toshiba
laptop and thats pretty much it. I dont know much about computers to brag on mine haha

3 Name: MKOLLER : 2011-08-02 04:44 ID:c3YdC+G2 [Del]

Not only do I access with power; I access with style.

HP Pavilion DM4T
Intel Core i5-480M 2.93GHz (TurboBoosted)
6 Gigs DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 6370
Win7 Home Premium
Separate 18.5" Sanyo LEDTV Monitor(Extended Display)

This way, I can have chats stream live on one screen, and then all my documents, messages, charts, and data on the other and it's far cleaner.

7 Name: pokjhdbnxw : 2011-08-02 16:53 ID:tsPgn4Cs [Del]

Hehe, mine costs about $140.00. Over Craigslist, so I don't have much power or speed.
10.1 " screen
1 GB DDR3 Memory
3-cell Li-ion battery
250 GB storage

I don't know what all of that even means. I'm just reading it off of my computer.

8 Name: Mael !hefBVEyOUs : 2011-08-02 18:30 ID:owFoar/t [Del]

Your screen alone would make me commit suicide lol..

10 Name: Mael !hefBVEyOUs : 2011-08-02 23:01 ID:owFoar/t [Del]

I guess I've just spoiled myself lol... But to me, size on computers is insanely important.

11 Name: マシンガン : 2011-08-03 02:07 ID:yKrhvNFb [Del]

I'm not sure what I have. It's an HP and the screen is like...13 inches wide. That's all I can tell...by looking at it. xD

I would say that Macs are the very heart of inflation, but that would be mean. Windows is cheap, and despite its many flaws people find ways to maximize its potential. Hence...

Copying off of the box, I have a...

Toshiba Satellite M505-S4940
Intel Pentium processor T4200
14" HD TruBrite Widescreen Display with LED Backlight
4GB SDRAM, 320GB HDD

and I'm running Windows 7. I've had this lappitytop for a few years so it's a little slow and wonky and times, but for the most part it still runs fine.

41 Name: MastaT : 2011-08-12 22:07 ID:tzm7Y0Fk [Del]

mmm I use a computer to access this site. its not all that great :\
-Gateway GM5688E Desktop/PC
-AMD Phenom™ 8400, 64-bit triple core processor
-320 GB, 7200 RPM
- 2GB DDR2 Dual-Channel RAM
-18X DVD ±RW, super multi-format dual layer drive with LabelFlash™ (up to 8.5 GB)
-15-in-1 high speed digital media manager
-Integrated ATI® Radeon™ HD 3200 graphics
-Analog / digital TV tuner with 3-D combination
-Integrated 8-channel (7.1) High Definition Audio

It said all that on the side of it so i just copied all that.. honestly i'd like to upgrade the graphics card, but I don't really know how to find the right one... I added a 1TB Harddrive and 2 more sticks of ram

42 Name: MKOLLER : 2011-08-13 05:52 ID:c3YdC+G2 [Del]

>>41 The 3200 series is actually quite good for 3D if you're doing things like sketchup, but if you want something better I'd recommend either the ATI Radeon HD 6370 or higher, or a NVidia GeForce series card.

43 Name: MastaT : 2011-08-13 16:43 ID:tzm7Y0Fk [Del]

If it's good then how come it runs so slow?
I'll check out those cards though

44 Name: MKOLLER : 2011-08-13 19:07 ID:c3YdC+G2 [Del]

The speed isn't determined by the graphics card on its own. The processor's clock speed and the RAM BUS speed also come into play. The 8400 only has a clock speed of 2.1 Ghz. And the RAM you're using may not be the best. Perhaps another problem is that you need to run some maintenance on it?

45 Name: Andre : 2011-08-19 23:13 ID:n1FoGZjQ [Del]

I had to go for a cheaper laptop since I didn't have much money :( But it works pretty well except for anything involving Flash, 3D, or advanced games.

Dell Inspiron 1545
Pentium Dual Core clocked at default 2 GHz
3796 MiB RAM (they cheat when they say they have 4GB...)
Around 300 GiB of 5400RPM HDD space (which I happen to use less than 50 GiB of because I'm a neat freak)
DVD+/-RW drive
1366X768 (16:9) screen (Don't know physical length, but probably average)
Intel Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics (which make me want to kill myself sometimes, heck I can't even play games from 2004)
Broadcom BCM4312 wireless (which also makes me want to kill myself because I have to use wireless g which gives me max speeds of 100 kb/sec and sometimes the driver crashes)
And finally...
Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit kernel 2.6.35-30

46 Name: MKOLLER : 2011-08-20 03:19 ID:c3YdC+G2 [Del]

>>45 Only 5400 RPM for the hard drive? Weak.

A Toshiba Satellite A665, my laptop whom I have affectionately named Shadowlight. I got it a year ago (and it's probably completely out-of-date by now but whatever), and apart from a recently-fixed manufacturing error with the hard drive, it's working perfectly fine, and I've been running a bunch of graphics-intensive games on it with no problem.

Hey, a 5400 RPM hard drive seems to work just fine for me!

50 Name: MKOLLER : 2011-08-23 16:15 ID:c3YdC+G2 [Del]

>>49 Pretty epic system. The only out of date thing on it is the processor (Gen 1 vs. Gen 2, which came out a few months ago). I'm using a 1st gen i5 as well, but it's 480M. And the graphics card on my Pavilion is an ATI Radeon, not a Nvidia GeForce, though both are pretty good.

How much you pay for it?

51 Name: Invader Kiwikami : 2011-08-23 21:14 ID:CyFMB7zV [Del]

I got it for something like $699 after a bit of Best Buy bargain-hunting.

It seems that nearly everything becomes obsolete within a few weeks these days.

I have 3 PCs. im most proud of the custom.

the first one is completely custom (and i built it myself. im only 14). a normal size, black gun metal casing, nVidia graphics card (surprised it works for my VALVe games), basically all the really good stuff for gaming, still (sadly) runs on XP... only cost about $400 for all the parts. monitor is a 20" optiquest flatscreen, 1440X900 resolution, mouse is the latest logitech wired gaming mouse along with a 3 year old logitech wireless keyboard. speakers are about.... 10-15 years old, but hold up well (still trying to get new ones), the mic i can not say is holding up as well. a $100 tablet, works pretty well, now i built it over a year ago so i dont really remember what other things i put in it.

the 2nd one is a dell my dad got from OSI. i dont know much about it but i know it was a server there. has windows 7 and very good for my gaming. the keyboard is rather basic, nothing special, the mouse is a logitech. i now have some logitech 7.1 surround sound headphones with mic. pretty good.

the 3rd is a 5 yr old compaq shuttle, has xp, had good graphics card wasnt anything special. it did what i needed it to do.
