just wondering if you guys think that dance is a sport

Yes, I really like dancing but I don't like doing sports. Though in a way, you could stay fit if you're dancing a fast-paced move every now and then.

Well, a sport is an activity that requires your body to move and dancing is basically that. So yeah, I think it is a sport, especially if you're really training to get better at it

They have dancing in the Olympics. So I think it counts to some degree :)

Never thought of it, but I guess it is? At least if you define sport by "physical activity with a defined set of rules that can be performed under competitive settings". Guess it treads the line between art and sport.

I feel like dancing is as much a sport as skateboarding. Very similar things. There's no 'point' to them, but you can still become more skilled and it takes physical effort.

I think that it might not be competitive enough to be qualified, say, as an olympic sport. But there are dances in the olympics. And it is an activity that requires time and effort and can be used for fun! So I'd say it's kind of a sport.

Then again, it's almost more of a self-challenge, in my opinion, instead of a challenge like track or soccer or basketball. However, I'm speaking more as a personally casual dancer than a super professional dancer. :p Hehe.
