For the Swimmers~ (15)

1 Name: Springer : 2015-08-31 21:52 ID:28Sf5/+y [Del]

I really want to improve my swimming skills, strength, and time.
I was hoping if anybody had any advice on my regimen, or can give me a harder regimen to train.
Thanks (^_^)

It'd help if you'd post your regimen here. It's really hard to improve it without seeing it.

Are you swimming in a club or alone ?

Basically, all you have to do is to stay as straight as possible and to make large movements to push the water backward.

Train before all your placement and the execution of your movements.
Then work your strength and your velocity.

Also, if you're swimming as part of triathlon, learn to miss some of your breathings (someone can accidentally push your head is the water while you breath in), and prepare yourself to fight while swimming.

@kill, thanks I'll take that offer :3
@Rue, this is my regimen
6x50m - Freestyle Warm-up
6x50m - Freestyle (Using Pull Buoy Float)
4x50m- Use Kickboard
4x50m - Freestyle Cool down
4x50m - Dolphin Kick
4x50m - Breast and Backstroke
2x50m - Kickboard
2x50m - Freestyle (Using Pull Buoy Float)
6x50m (or the remaining time I have/want) - Freestyle + Cooldown
(BTW, I want to be more focused on my freestyle/front crawl)
@Hiroki, I swim alone and thank you for your advice ^_^

I don't understand what you're trying to train with that sample of training.

Can you precise the pace at every line ? And the recuperation ?
Also, don't be scared to do more repetitions and to swim more than 50m. And practice your technique.

The best would be to join a club though.

Try working on mostly technique, when you have the technique down pat, then start building up muscle. I have a 25 second 50free and that's mostly from technique because i have little muscle.

Definitely work on technique although a little abs or strength training wouldn't hurt. It honestly just depends on your goals. Just work hard

Anyway, you need abs among other to have a good placement.

So yeah, since this kind of strength is essential, he has to train it along with the technique.

hi i'm a swimmer btw.. not national level but yeah...
i think for regimen you should join a club bc they have a properly scheduled and organized regimens.
if you're going by your self, try to find coaching websites on google and fit it yourself. hopefully helping hehehe
