Yes ! Some cyclist friends !
(actually I used to do more triathlon than pure cycling)
And yes, around my place that's pretty safe.

There is some incredible trails near Berry College. That is where I ride in the off season between cross country and track. What is your average ride length in miles?

I have been working at a cycle shop over the summer and Shwinn Frontier are selling like crazy. The Frontier is a beginner mountain bike. Any thoughts on why this is?
11 Name: Hiroki : 2015-09-18 16:28 ID:W0TTf30D [Del]
What are the characteristics of the frame and of the other equipments ?
12 Name: Sandman the Endless : 2015-09-18 17:37 ID:rzNx/HdD [Del]
Details about the Frontier:
21 speed (3 by 7)
Steel frame
linear pull brake style
26 inch wheels
it does have disk brake mounts but does not come with it stock
Around $330 (it differs depending on the size)
Sorry, this is about all the information I know. Hope that helps figure out why it sells so much.

According to the Internet, it is equipped with Shimano Tourney components and resin pedals.
If you plan to use your bike regularly to do sport as a beginner, try to have at least Shimano Deore components, or the equivalent. You would quickly wreck the low-end ones (and when you'll be a good rider you will wreck even the Deore ones T.T).
And 8-9 speeds would be better.
Also, it's better to have metallic pedals (resin one can be easily broken).
Concerning the shifters, I personally prefer the shifters with two buttons. Anyway ,if you choose a twist-style shifter check that it's indexed.

I'm trying to figure out why it is selling so fast. We had 5 sell at the shop I work at just this month!

>>15 It's inexpensive and is pretty good looking, so people who want a bike to set out on a not intensive ride to the countryside twice a month, or who don't know about bikes and want one to commute are attracted by it.
Or simply beginners who don't want to pay a lot for a bike.

I was asking about the kind a bike shop, though the link gave me this information.
That's a lovely bike shop.
T.T I was about to ask you if I could work there during the next summer, but obtaining a visa in the U.S. seems to be an administrative nightmare. Maybe a H2A visa could match, but its description in French is ambiguous. Damn, there're only 5 types of visas to enter in France, and they are cheaper. http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france/getting-a-visa/article/entry-and-stay-visas-application

You can email me about working there, if you are still interested, at Sandmantheendless.dollars@gmail.com. From there, I can connect you with the owner and more information about Cycle Therapy.

T.T Today, I did my first cycling race ever.
I was so badly worn out at the end, that I couldn't even talk. I first thought it was a severe hypoglycemia, but fruits, cookies, a sandwich and 2 small glasses of powdered sugar did not fix it. *kyokugen feeding !*)
I fell in the first 2 minutes, and I had a cramp from the first 5 minutes (a race is more than 50 minutes long).
Though, at the beginning, I was joyful and smiling (as usual). When the leaders overtook me for the first time, I even shouted "Hey, vous m'attendrez pour l'apéro !" (Wait me for the aperitif !)
I'll get out of it, that lack training (not a surprise, for a 2nd year college student), and that cycling is really different to triathlon.
Indeed, in triathlon they don't make us do a lot of 90° turns and U-turns and lot of single tracks and set boards to break our rhythm. (fukken perverts).
