I remember when Discord was starting out, before it became mainstream, there were a lot less public servers. So, once you joined, say, an anime server, there you'd find really nice people who're genuinely into watching anime and that were active. It was probably one of the few servers where you could talk to like-minded people about anime, so it would concentrate all those that looked for others to talk about it and kept it pretty small.
Nowadays, there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of discord servers, dedicated to anime alone. All of which have thousands of users, who've forgotten they're even in it. It's barely a "chat". People don't care to get to know each other on those, they just use the chat to let off some comments and leave.
I'm not sure if I can put my feelings into words when I say this, but I really crave to meet people again. Genuine people, with genuine interests and personalitites. Or just have a place to log into in the evening and chat with everyone, even if it's anonymous. I'd love to set up a chatroom similiar to drrr, that is not infested with roleplay and lewds. But more of a rather closed space with people who can just chat, who only log in WHEN they feel like chatting, so the chat doesn't have 20 people logged in, when none of them are actually there.
Does anyone of you know of any communities, forums or chat rooms? Is anyone here with the knowledge interested in creating such a site? Would love to hear some feedback.
That aside, I'm sure the admins of mushoku.tk or chat.dollars.moe wouldn't mind having a small bunch of randos barging into their site to boot up goodtime.exe by just having casual banters. In fact, it'll put a smile on their face I think.
Now its just the matter of gathering those people who had the same interest as you, which I presume were plenty out there, but didn't have anywhere to channel out their frustration.
