The bad thing about being homeschooled through high school is that you don't get a lot of the opportunities that regular highschoolers get. For instance, Prom. I realize that there are fall formals and ways for homeschoolers to go to prom but it's not happening to me. I'm from a small town, and my prom is happening in the city. I'm not allowed to go that far, overprotective parenting. I'm not getting a prom. T_T. However, All of my friends are getting a prom. I'm happy for them! Don't get me wrong, but sometimes I wish I could lead a simple high school life. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, I'm not allowed to attend regular high school. What is prom like? Can you guys share your experiences down below? This turned into a rant post didn't it? Woops-
Honestly, prom isn't that interesting on its own. You take a table, eat/drink food, stare at the few weirdos who actually think it's cool to dance at a school function, ignore some rich couple on the student counsel getting crowned king/queen, get your picture taken, then move on.
Most people go for the after crazy after-party / weekend trip that tends to follow in senior year. So if you're not into drinking and/or dealing with drunk teens, you're not gonna miss much.
