Tell us about a time you had some sort of revelation. I'll start off!

In elementary school, I was the smart kid, so naturally I was bullied a lot and had no friends. Every day at recess, there was only one person who wanted to play with me, but one day she was absent.

Now there was this thing where if someone got hurt, the next day they would show up with a cast. Whoever was the first to sign it was the coolest person in school.

I was pushed off the bars and broke my arm, and then all the kids came rushing over, asking me if I wanted to play with them. I said no but they kept asking. I knew right then that humanity was fucked, and I spent my whole day in the hospital wondering if they actually cared that I broke my arm.

The day I got out of the hospital, everyone was rushing to sign my cast, and then the very next day, they just treated me like they did any other day; which was like shit.

On the bright side, the girl who was first to sign became the most popular girl in school. And now she works at a strip club.

Revelation: People are inherently selfish.

I was a devout religious nut since 2010... Then I had surgery in 2015... only like 5 other religious people (of the same religion) came to visit me. I had family from a completely different state who I completely avoided because we had different religious beliefs come visit me despite our differences. That's where the revelations began. After 2 years of doubts I have discovered my religion is basically a cult without real love and that it has a lot of false teachings that I used to follow blindly, and now I'm out. And I've been out of it for 3 months now. I don't plan on sticking my branches in any organized religion anymore for a long, long period of time.... yeah
