Back from Cleveland. Had some fun catching up with my sister, saw some cool art, drank wine, saw Lake Erie. Cool stuff, man.

Since the RTT has spontaneously become the dreamland thread- My alarm went off at 2am, but I decided to doze back off for a few more minutes and then I had a dream about bread. When I woke back up it was 3am. I dreamed about bread for an hour and it cost me my morning shower... :/

So in the pharmacy's drive thru, some asshat rode his bike in loops and flicked us off. Later, when I got off my shift, I was driving, and saw the same asshat. Pretty sure he saw me, too. So, while driving away from the stop sign, I flicked him off, returning the favor. He sat there on his bike like a fool, and I laughed.

The internet access in my dorm broke down yesterday, so I'm currently using my phone. When I inserted "Chronos" as username my phone auto-corrected it into "phone" about three or four times. Then I inserted "Phonos" just for fun and my phone didn't correct it, so I decided to use "Phonos" when on phone.

Yeah. The random dream thread lol.
However. I decided to write a dream diary. My dreams are really weird and I often dream about the same place. The most interesting point is, that I'm able to remember former dreams while dreaming, thinking it would have been the real past. I remember everything and I don't realise that I'm dreaming right at the moment. The dreams even contain colour, taste, smell and pain as if it would be reality - it's totally strange for normal dreams being less patterned and rather arbitrary.
In other words you could say that I currently have two lifes.
I wonder which one is real... lol

I had a fight with a friend today. She never answers my messages, and when she answers she is like "Today I watched anime X and I totally love character Y" what has nothing to do with my message. But when I'm not answering immediately to her "I love this character" message, then she gets very angry and tells me that I would be a bad friend. Today I told her that she would be not better than me. And now she writes lots of insulting messages. But I don't answer her. I'm angry.

Talking about PETA and animal welfare and so on...
Today I went to my friend´s house for the first time. They have two dogs. Although they live in a big house, with a small garden, the dogs live in small cages, big enough to sleep rolled-up. First I expected those cages being sleeping places only, but it appears that the dogs spent their entire daytime within those cages. They never go outside and even take a shit within those cages. Only in the evening the family lets the dogs out for about 30 minutes for playing in the rather small living room.
People, I don´t like dogs, but I´m really shocked. This way of keeping dogs seems to be legit and totally normal in Japan. The family had no fucking idea why I made such a shocked face lol.
I knew that japanese petshops haven´t got a good reputation in terms of reasonable keeping of animals. Nevertheless, I thought at least, the ones buying animals and keeping them at home, would care more for their pets. In Europe pets become like a part of the family, I guess it´s similar in the US, isn´t it?
Japan definitely needs stricter rules for keeping an animal or other animal protection acts...

Dogs are larger, therefore harder to lose and have accidentally die in your own house. For this reason, caging 24/7 for dogs is kinda pointless and cruel. Same goes for cats (is it safe to assume the Japanese treat cats similarly?).

One thing that has been on my mind since yesterday is something quite funny. Yesterday I was playing Fire Emblem Echoes Shadows of Valentia. I was doing a map that had previously irritated me. So I decided to use the invoke strategy. (Basically summon illusions to fight on your side). That strategy worked well, a little too well. Reason why I say this is because one of the enemies that was killed by my illusions was the map boss. I found that to be both funny and awesome at the same time.

Dogs need run. The two dogs I saw yesterday were jumping on their hind legs and barking the entire time as if they were crazy.
I´m not an animal welfarist and normally I think everyone shall do what they want to, nevertheless did I feel pity for those two dogs.

Guys, my point was not, that it is generally bad to lock an animal up. For some reasons I totally understand that some people lock their pet up while not at home. I just felt pity for the dogs because they barely get out of their cage.

I saw in the paper this morning that it was the 200th birthday of the guy who invented the Baha'i faith. I didn't know what that was, so I looked it up. Sounded good, but then I started wondering if there were extremist elements to them, like with Christianity and Islam (hell, Hinduismhas their extremists, too).
Eh, I dunno, just a thought.

Last night I dreamt of an earthquake destroying my university. Instead of being happy that there won´t be lectures for some days, I just worried about a book I wanted to borrow from the library. What a strange dream. I guess I´m recently spending too much time in the library for my essays.

Went to the Museum of Death today. It was so cool. <3 <3 <3

They had a whole fucking exhibit on GG Allin. I actually only knew about him from the website of the museum. I was like, "Who the fuck is this?" cuz he's on one of the t-shirts they have next to other serial killers, so I looked him up. Then I got into some of his music. He's scummy tho lol. I was telling my mom abt him and she looked so grossed out (rightfully, so).

And they had pins of dif. serial killers and I was begging my mom to get me one of Dahmer and she was like, "Stop idolizing them" and I was like "Ugh, I'm just fascinated." I get how it can be seen as idolization, but I guess I don't cross the line there. I'm not exactly sure where I cross the line w/ this stuff.

The Heaven's Gate videotape was in there, too, and a quilt made by the Manson girls was in there. They had some of Gacy's artwork, too. Actually a lot of serial killer artwork lol. Some serial killer trading cards, b/c apparently that was a thing (I want lol). They had a whole room filled with taxidermy. There were two in particular, I don't remember what types of animals, I do think they were both dogs tho, but one was Liberace's and the other's was Jayne Mansfield's and both these dead animals ended up with Anton LaVey (I mean that's no surprise, they were both Satanists lol) and now it's in the museum and I was like "LMAO SPOOKY SPOOKY WTF!!!"

THERE WERE SOOOOO MANY BOOKS ON DISPLAY, TOO...and, duh, I want to read them. I legit sent an email after my visit asking if they have a list of all the books they have on display, b/c I'm ready to expand my reading list lol.

At the end of the museum there's a "How do you want to die?" notebook and some of the shit in there is so fucking vivid and some was lewd as fuck. I didn't write in it tho, b/c knowing me I'd just write some bullshit and it'd actually come true.

Then when I left, we kept going through Hollywood and I saw a pink corvette and it was Angelyne and I was totally stoked, so I took a pic. I actually didn't know shit about this lady until like a week ago...but I saw her...so rad. <3 <3 <3

Today I went to a shopping centre with my friends to buy some PS4 games, when suddenly a man in a dark suit started talking to me. I expected him being a random customer who is bored and - friendly as I am - continued the conversation. After talking about foreign languages I speak (which was a rather weird topic in my opinion), the man turned out to be the manager of the shopping centre and offered me a job at the information, because they are currently searching for persons who speak both Japanese and English to a proper degree.
Right at the moment I´m pondering. It appears that I always get job offers when I don´t need them at all. Fact is I´m already teaching English twice a week and I wanted to start working in a book store (because of the mangas lol).
I´m currently saving money for a motorbike driving licence, so the information would be the better option, because the shopping centre pays better than the book store.

Me and sis decided to make today are last day at work. We stayed for two hours and then left because all of the morning/overnight managers were being unbearable assholes. My only regret was that I didn't get to finish zoning my pencil pouches, they really needed a good zone.

On the bright side I officially live at me mere's house now. I spent 8hrs in a car going back and forth transporting mine and sis's stuff. We'll finish up with the small stuff tomorrow and cancel the electric and stuff. Wednesday we'll be renting a uhaul to move the big furniture items and then we'll be completely done.
It's going to be interesting having to commute 1.5 hours to go to school now.

I'm such a bad teacher for laughing at my students for their mistakes, but yesterday's English lesson was really funny:

It took me half of an hour to realise what the guy wanted to say and why he said "fuck".
In Japanese the word for "to wipe something clean" is "fuku" - the boy simply turned the Japanese word into an English word, which turned out to be "fuck".
I swear, I laughed the entire lesson. I guess the boy hates me now for laughing at him.

Went to see the Dark Tower. Decent movie, feel like the books are probably better and I kinda wanna read them. The actors were pretty good, but the movie felt very fast-paced and rushed kinda like they just barely touched the surface of the source material and they were expecting the audience to already know the books and stuff.

I have to do a two-page review of the book I chose for AP Lit (Equus, which when I was halfway reading it realized Peter Shaffer had written and then I got really happy). I chose it because it was short in all honesty, but also because it was the only book with a concept that it immediately made me say "Whoa!" I don't know what to talk about in my review. There are many things I took from the book, but I'm only going to choose one if the two-page review is going to be a reality (it won't though, I love doing reviews lmao and there's just a lot to talk about...). We have to do a bunch of extra bullshit to like use certain words from a list she gave us and cite a second book that we had to read our sophomore year. It's stupid, but my "two-page review" is not going to be two-pages. I'll make two versions of it if I have to, a Tl;DR version and one that actually reflects my real feelings.

I hate being restricted in what I have to write. I hate English for that reason...really, I just hate teachers who set limits on how much you are supposed to write and how much you aren't in a subject that is really free. In history I understand I have to hit certain points. For example, if I'm talking about women's rights during different time periods. I'm going to have to talk about at least two different time periods and give at least one example for each time period, and then do a paragraph comparing or contrasting them. I have to hit those points for history. For English, however, it's more of a creative class. While she's giving us criteria for it, it's also pretty unreasonable considering she wants us to feel free to write whatever we want. I mean do you want us to hit these points or do you want us to be creative, which is it? And I don't understand how she expects some of us to write a two-page essay on this. Some people chose 500 page books. Mine was 92 pages and I feel like I could write at the very least five pages on everything I read and everything that stood out to me if I condensed it. For some scenes I could probably write a two-page essay, which speaks volumes. Imagine if I decided to analyze every fucking scene, do you know how fucking long my "two-page essay" would be? Lol. It's just bothering me, because I know I'm going to go over two pages and I don't want her to get mad at me b/c I "didn't follow directions."

My schedule came out today. Kinda happy w/ it, kinda not. I've got an odd/even schedule so in that sense I actually like that I don't have to move around a lot. The only classes I have to make an effort to walk to are 6th and 7th.

So, there is this black guy in my dorm, American, born in Okinawa. No bad guy, actually pretty funny, though he somehow dislikes me for no obvious reason.

Nice, my school kicked me out of anthro, the one class I wanted, for trig, b/c I need to take math all four years and there is no trig class at any other time except that one b/c my AP classes conflict. Great. She was asking me if I wanted to drop an AP class and I was like "Dude, I did not work all summer on these AP classes to drop one of them" no fucking way am I sacrificing an AP class just to be in anthro, but now I have a free period as a T.A. and that looks shitty on a transcript. I don't want to be a T.A. That just seems so unfulfilling! Ooh, I learned how to use a photocopier...give me a fucking break...

My mom's going to school with me tomorrow to see if she can find a way to get me into any other class during my first period, because she doesn't want me to be a T.A. either. She said I might as well be going to school late on the days I have first period, because I'm not going to be doing anything." What I don't understand is how independent study isn't an option. I don't even care if I get the credit for the class, I just really wanted to contribute, read the lessons, etc. for anthro. They only do work for the first semester anyway, the second semester they just watch TV shows/movies, so idk why I can't just do projects for the first semester and get a grade for them even if I'm not physically in the class. The counselor said, "But who would teach you?" It's not impossible for me to just, idk, READ THROUGH THE TEXTBOOK & POWERPOINTS smh. The whole job thing is so frustrating. I apply to Kohl's, they interview me, say that they'll probably hire me, and then I never hear back from them. Not even an email to say that I haven't been hired which is so fucking ridiculous and unprofessional.
My sis is hired at Walgreens and when she mentions that I am also looking for a job they sound interested in me and so I apply there and then I'm told that relatives aren't allowed to work together in the same store. I apply to a bunch of other places and don't get a single call back or email. It's really annoying.

Went to school to get my free period resolved. So talked to one of the counselors (not my counselor tho, she was in a meeting) and this lady has a fucking attitude abt what we're discussing b/c apparently I'm too smart to get into the class I want and I should just deal w/ not getting it. She said "That class isn't A-G approved" which is an absolute lie b/c ALL the classes at our school are A-G approved. Then she lies and says, "[The other counselor] told me you told her that you wanted this class instead of entrepeneurship or P.E." when in fact that never happened. Amazing! Not only are they trying to be of no help, but they're also lying to me! The principal walked in while we had our conversation; he didn't say shit.

The counselor tells me the class isn't me being a T.A. (except that's a complete lie as well, b/c the T.A. class IS that class and while they may work on other stuff, the main point of it is to have T.A.'s when necessary) and that it's me learning how to make a resume and how to know the difference between a career and a job. Hey, lady, I don't want to take a whole class on that, when I can find that with a simple google search. If I'm going to take a goddamn class online it better be something that actually has to do with a subject that isn't life after high school. A lot of ppl bitch abt how school doesn't teach anything that helps you in real life and that's true, but I've come to think there's a reason why school isn't teaching you that bullshit, b/c that's not what it's for, so I don't want a class that's teaching me something as simple as that (man, this is some ungrateful piece of shit millennial problems I've got going on lol <---but come on, I kind of have a point, right?).

There's also my feline sister who's been with us since about 10 years ago. She seems to be fine for now, but the time when I have to say goodbye is near.

Heyo the eclipse was quite nice, even though it was not full, it was around 80%, so most of it was covered. Even so, it was still nice to view. My right eye lost some vision though, at least it will be cured in a couple days.

The temp dropped like 5° with the sun out of commission. I had 89% totality.
Too bad I didn't bother to actually buy a pair of those eclipse glasses cause looking at the sun from the naked eye you can't actually tell there's any difference because of all of the glare. However, it is definitely darker outside which is kinda strange because there's clear skies and it just feels like a mind trick or something.

I was thinking of writing about Vincent van Gogh, but my Austrian is nonexistent so idk. Like I know his letters to his brother have been translated to English, but I don't know about any newspapers or his medical records. Even though I think if I use any newspapers I might be able to get by with just the French ones and my French is decent enough with Google Translate.

I had a good friend, who was suicidal. He had been under therapy for more than a year back then, nevertheless he didn´t get better. So he asked me for help. It was my first year at university and I hadn´t learned anything significant except for above-mentioned statistics, I had no clue how to help him. I listened to him, gave some advices - nothing in particular - was totally overchallenged with his issue.
After some time he stopped telling me how he felt, talking random, meaningless stuff instead. I often asked him whether he would be alright or not, but he blocked all serious topics, pretending to be fine. Although sceptical, I gave up, finally even believing him somehow.
Suddenly there weren´t any messages anymore for almost two weeks. The next thing I heard was that he had committed suicide.

After that I assumed that I shouldn´t become a psychologist, if I hadn´t been able to help my own friend, I wouldn´t be able to help someone else. I felt guilty and finally quit university (which was very stupid, I know).
Now I´m in Japan, studying music psychology and philosophy, unsure whether I should become a music therapist or a teacher in the future.
Well, perhaps I´m becoming gangster or something... who knows...

I know this is inaccurate, but everytime someone mentions 4D, I just imagine it to be layers of 3D space superposed on top of each other without actually touching.

So, take that idea, and multiply it infinitely. That's what I've been thinking about 4D space.

The new spiderman is rather an annoying teenager, if not even a joke figure, than a hero - not comparable with main characters from previous films.

On a positive note though, talked to my academic advisor and I had her check off all of my foreign language requirements cause I took 4 years in hs.

Hey whats that halloween costume that lets you control like 2 dolls front and back, you move your arm and the figures behind and front move their arm as well.

I went to see Hitman's Bodyguard, I enjoyed. The action sequences were real good and I enjoyed watching people shoot guns and other people getting shot by said guns. Tbh it seems that in most action flicks everyone has just got terrible aim lol. The comedy was also pretty decent, I'm not usually one for comedy flicks, but it was a lot of situational humor rather than lame one liners so not too bad.

Might go to the movies tonight to see Castle in the Sky. Not my favorite Hayao Miyazaki film, but still a classic. In september the theaters will be playing Nausica and that one I defs want to see because it's one of the few Miyazaki films that I haven't seen.

Japanese people are indeed friendly and you will survive without knowing Japanese in bigger cities like Tokyo and Osaka, for everything is explained in English too. The food is good and there are lots of interesting places to visit.
Actually Japan is pretty cool, especially when you like anime or games etc.
BUT most Japanese are shy and won't talk to you and if they do, it will take a while until they really show their true self.

Korean I think just has the same characters, as they are all square/sharp edged characters.

I found Japanese to be extremely easy to learn though, opposed to Spanish.

English teacher is making us read Antigone now. All the essay topics she chose for us have to do with gender identity and gender roles and how they compare to ancient Greece and our modern times. Ugh.

The first thing you do when you learn a new language is to master their phonetics. In Japanese, phonetics are easily learned by learning hiragana/katakana. With English, there's no official way to learn phonetics, and english words are filled with exceptions anyway, so you just have to get used to it.

In Japanese classes, they don't tell you to listen to native english speakers, they just tell you to memorize words and grammars. But for people who hasn't mastered the phonetics use in english, words look just like a string of alphabets. In other words, they're hard to remember. Hence, the birth of Engrish.

The problem with learning phonetics by using katakana is that katakana are syllables and not single letters, so you get something like that:
Za dogu isu in ze ga-den--> translates to: The dog is in the garden.
Sometimes I have no fucking clue what the Japanese are saying because the words are getting totally different when written in katakana.

Basically, my conclusion is that a chatroom is meant only for a few people. When that number exceeds a certain amount, there would be a split between 'regulars' and 'outsiders'. I personally am not chatty enough to be a regular, so that place is a bad fit for me. Some people prefers discord to bbs, though.
