But other, bigger, better news: there is a baby at my mom's house. Apparently s/he has been wondering around the neighborhood for a while now and someone put out a cage to capture him/her, but my mom found him/her in the cage and brought it along with the cage home and released him/her in the garage where s/he has been hiding out. I went out there with a string and started playing with her/him. S/he's super skittish and has been hiding in a corner for the past two days, but I got her/him to come out for a while. Have yet to confirm the gender if you couldn't guess. S/he's only about six-seven months I would guess, super cute!

Why is it that writing assignments always make me figure my shit out?

In English class, we had a thing where we had to write about where we were from. Since I had no place where I was from, exactly, I decided to write about the people who raised me. Then I realized that everything that they taught me was going to waste because I was being an ass.

The last two stanzas were entirely on the fly, a verbal facepalm if you look close enough. I literally turned in my internal monologue for an English assignment. Whatever. My teacher's pretty dank.

Also, why is it that when I try to leave the Dollars because I'm socially retarded and it takes so much energy to talk to everyone and not miss out, I'm invited to a new interesting thing and come back? It keeps sucking my soul back in, 'le~!

The current American election in a nutshell, for those of you Australians out there:

Hillary's been in politics for a long time, and US politicians have no right to privacy. This means all her dirty laundry is out in the open. Politics are also shit for your health. Chances are, she's either gonna die off, get arrested, or otherwise be forced to resign early on.

Donald Trump has no understanding of politics or foreign policy, and he's hidden his personal information through the election. Neither our gov't, nor any foreign gov'ts, intend to let him run the country as it is. He will be executed the second he openly tries to be anything more than a figurehead.

The next in command is the vice president, which runs alongside the presidential candidate; that makes this a battle of the VPs.

Note that both running VPs are old religious white guys, but the difference is that Clinton's (Kaine) makes a point to separate his religion from his legal decisions (like the US Constitution, uh, "recommends"), while Trump's (Pence) can be quoted proudly putting Christianity before his legal duties.

This is why Pence is best known for signing pro-discrimination bills and banning the abortion of disabled and deformed fetuses in his state, while Kaine is best known for cutting the spending of his state, improving its remaining budget to invest safely in new infrastructure, and voting 100% pro-choice despite his personal issues with abortion.

Is it just me or is a lot of what the internet has to show, shown in a negative light. Memes/jokes seem to revolve around negative things or accidents that happen in people's lives. People can't stand a perfect world, that's just who we are as humans. If we had a world full of pure goodness, we would go insane for sure. Because the concept of good is very subjective. Police and other law enforcements aren't here to rid the community of evil, but to maintain it.

So while the way we act in accordance to the outside world is good, we will often come here and be negative. I think that balance is beautiful.

And the more negative someone acts here, the more positive they are in real life.

So yesterday in a nut shell: I woke up at 6am, went to school, took an hour nap after school/before work, got off of work at 7am this morning, and then this little insomniac proceeded to sleep only until 10am. Therefore I stayed awake for 24 hours and only got 3 hours of sleep afterwards. And tonight I have work again. T-T

Sidenote: I cut about half of my hair off as well.

Youtube's had a rough history with its content moderation system through the years.
At one point in the early stages of Youtube, staff could've probably handled the amount of cases being sent in on a daily basis. That said, it's clearly not the case during recent years.
So, they turned to other more efficient methods of moderation. Algorithms, a report system, among other things were all tried to help try and report content that was clearly in violation of the ToS. That said, the previous methods had several errors, and would often lead to content creators having their videos taken down for no good reason.
People complained about it, and then Youtube tried to change again.

Instead now there's the 'Heroes' program, which can supplement Youtube's 'moderation staff' back up to a decent number to match the erratic growth of videos put out on a daily basis.
On Youtube's part, it's a smart move. They can incentivize free labor (volunteer moderators) from the users to supplement their short staff, while hopefully solving community issues. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense as to why they're doing it.

(For this last part I'm simply speculating from the video.)
It appears as though they have limited more moderator features to upper levels (4+), which I assume means you have to accumulate points to even have access to this level. If that's true, then the only people you would need to worry about being moderators (effectively) are those who've 'proven' themselves to be decent people. Sure, they'll be the occasional tryhard who, after some time, will be able to mass flag videos of a person/ channel they dislike, but they'd likely lose their privileges after the channel goes through an appeal, and then someone else realizes that the earlier 'Hero' is shit.

All said, probably nothing much to worry about. Though the fact that subtitles will be more widely put on videos (since it's at level 1, it's likely that a majority of people will be doing it) seems good and harmless, given the occasional troll replacing some subtitles with gibberish or something.

Some idiot in charge decided it was a good idea to start construction at the Uni during trimester 2. I wouldn't mind, but they've blocked the main entrance to the building I have most of my tutes in. For the last month or so I've had to walk halfway around the building, take the side stairs, and then walk to the front where my classrooms are, usually taking an extra 5 minutes or so. Well today they decided to block the side entrance as well. Apparently we're expected to take the fire escape stairs up, although there are no signs to indicate this, and I found it only because I someone who noticed me standing outside the side entrance told, which is good was very close to just saying "fuck it" and going home despite the group presentation that I have to do for management.

Also, apparently my group decided they wanted to rehearse the presentation at the library at 9:30, so I guess I'll now have to leave class and go over to the library for that. Fun.

Went to the dentist's for the first time in like twelve years yesterday. No cavities, just needed a cleaning pretty bad. I was right that my teeth are super overcrowded, though, so they're gonna have an orthodontist check it out and see what can be done. (I'll probably have a ton pulled.)

They also want to get rid of my wisdom teeth because there's not enough room for them to come in, and a few of them are super crooked (one's literally horizontal), so the rest of my teeth will get fucked up even worse when they come through.

I thought some of my wisdom teeth had already come in, but those were just late molars. Blah.

My birthday was today as well (yeyyy not a teenager anymore!) and I got an ergonomic keyboard o-o It's kind of hard to type on since I'm not used to it, but it's supposed to be way better for my hands, so we'll see if it helps when writing season comes up.

So yesterday I had something of an interesting experience.

I went for an open mic yesterday to see a friend's band. There were a couple of guys who kinda turned up with their acoustic guitars to play solo sets, but a couple of friendly musicians offered to play backing band for them, and when someone mentioned I was a drummer I ended up getting pulled up to drum for them. Obviously I didn't know any of the songs and since all the amps were in front of me I could barely hear the other guys playing and thus couldn't really get much of a feel for how each song was going to progress. Basically I found a drum beat to fit each song and stuck to it, playing only a few short fills here and there so as not to fuck up the timing and throw the rest of the guys off, as well as not to accidentally play a long fill in the middle of a verse or and come off looking like an idiot.

So yeah, I was basically keeping time the whole way though, and it was really easy and honestly a little dull. I wasn't particularly nervous, but the idea of fucking up did scare me and as such I was very conscious of my playing and was overall very stiff and methodical the whole, at least until the last few songs when I actually started getting into the groove a little, although I never really let loose and full on showed off or anything.

Ended up playing with this one blues dude and some woman who pretty much just covered Rolling Stones songs. Was interesting. Only the second time I went to that place, but I recognised most people there from the last time. I think I might have made a few friends, too. Be interesting next time I go around, will probably have the band play there again so I actually will have a good opportunity to show off.

'Spirit Circle' is one of those few manga which the author planned out from start to finish and managed to finish the series within a reasonable amount of chapters without being axed.

Only pseudo-code you'd need is:
-Trigger for animations (time based & hit based on raycast)
-Controls for movement and 'shoot' (change x pos & raycast 'missile')
-Movement script for 'enemies' (check x-pos to see if on left or right edge and then reverse direction if true)
-Script for 'blockers' to null a 'shot' and then be destroyed
-Enemy script to determine if unit will 'shoot' or not in a given second

I did something similar last year in college, managed to cram the project into about 8 hours with playtesting, though no major animations.

I went to see Magnificent 7 last night at theaters, kinda boring. Didn't realize the thing was almost three hours long. I was hoping it would be funnier considering the cast line up, but then it just wasn't. Just a boring Western.

So the Lawn&Garden department at work no longer has water. Our water has been shut off since Wednesdays and so all of our plants our wilting and dying and no matter how much I complain none of the managers will do anything about it or even seem to care.
